Like you seem to be implying, I've also heard that writing in the 1st person
is *very* difficult because it's so easy to screw up technically -- since
the story is in the 1st person, you cannot let the reader know anything the
POV character doesn't know, you can't get into the heads of the other
characters, stuff like that. I would think that it would also be difficult
to try it with a character that many people know well already, like one of
the KS or a Ranma or SM character.

That said, it would also be interesting for someone to try it and see how it
turns out :)

Speaking from experience (shameless plug - "Kurobara"), it is difficult -
not because of the technical slip-ups, but because of the state you must
put yourself into when writing. You must try to see from the character's
point of view as much as possible, getting into their head, feeling what
they feel. With some characters, this is easy - doing that little bit of
first person Ranma with "A Man I'll Never Be" was extremely natural for
me - and, at the time, was almost a necessity. With others, however,
like Kodachi in "Kurobara", it was sometimes easy, sometimes
near-impossible.
