Another possible thing to do is (shudder) write in first person....which
is pretty much like juggling eggs full of nitro but could be fun. I've
always wanted to really SEE inside one of the KS' heads..or even somebody
else if you have a balls-y hell and leather attitude...
I'm atttempting it with a short story I'm working on but of course I
often makes this guy (the one I'm inside ) tick....
Robyn of course is no problem.

I ached and my mouth was full of dirt.
Spitting stones, dead grass and twigs I slowly got to my feet.
Upon getting even footing (well as even as this field would allow I
moved back into a crouch. "Care to try that again?"
Benidict wore an expression I seldom saw from him - amusement.
"We can do it again if you would like....but the result would be the
same...as if we had done it a hundred times."
 "I'm not going back."
"Yes you are ." he replied patiemtly " And the only reason I've not
nocked you on the head and taken you back tied o'er your saddle
is surprisingly because I belive you."
"You do?" I don't know if this particulair fact allarmed or comforted
me....I SEEMED to have the faith of the most noble sword in Amber (well
give or take one or two) but why?
"If you believe I had nothing to do with Mother's attack let me go so I
can find who really did it."
"Nephew, were it that easy." he shook his head slightly taking on his
usual slightly grim and mournful look. "The court is in turmoil and
"just letting you go" would only add to it." I ask you to come with me
now like a man and allow yourself the chance to plead before all....you
will get your chance."
I'm not sure..." my voice trailed off visions of a quick trial and even
quicker execution sugar-plumming their way through my head."
"I would not draw on thee" Yet even as he spoke his left hand bruched the
pommel of his blade.
I sighed and walked to the castle with him.

When I subscribed to this ML, I had a few fanfic ideas rattling around
in my brain for some time. Now that I'm on, I've got a reason to develop
them a little bit (one of them would be a mutli-author effort). Tell me
what you think.

Ranma 1/2: The Pact

The basic premise has been used before (I'd say it's been done to
death). Beware of a few things.
1) Don't make the new character an Avatar. That's just a bad, bad idea.
2) Try to avoid focusing on the new character too much. Ranma stories
seem to work best when they deal with Ranmaverse characters.
3) Don't make the new character super-competent. This means no using him
to resolve the romantic polygons, and try to keep his martial arts skills
at a minimum. There is a strong temptation to give new characters
Ranma-like skills with lots of flashy powers. Kuno-level skills with no
chi-based abilities seems to work better.
