Yes, happily so.

No.  I think it's a combination of people who haven't figured out the 
new way of replying, plus people who are following WW's wish not to 
spam.  In the past, whenever WW asked for the spam to stop, it died 
down, for awhile.

Removing all freedom, then restoring partial freedom is no improvement. 
Declaring a police state but changing it to allow everyone to come and go 
only to work, is hardly an improvement.  And that is, basically, what has 
occurred.

"Freedom"?  "Police state"?  Guys, this is a list about the art of 
writing amateur fiction.  It's not a political organization.  I 
really think some chilling out is needed by all.

        A week ago, I used to get 70+ e-mails a day. Some were fanfics, some
were C&C, and some were just plain spam.  I willingly sorted through the
spam and uninteresting fanfics to get to the meat.

Excuse me?  70+??  I was getting as many as 160!!  I got 66 today, in 
this new, "low-volume", "colder" ML.  I don't mind sorting through 
spam, when it's in a newsgroup, and I don't have to spend the time to 
download it all onto my hard drive.  An ML is a different story.
