Well, resetting Ranma in America might be a losing idea.. but what
about a fic dealing with how American students would deal with the
problems created by a Jusenkyo curse. This was briefly touched on in
'Eight Days A Week' (loved the cameo of Scully and Mulder, RpM).

	So...

How about a class trip to China for an American class. Or even
that annoying gang from `Friends.'?

	<Ed grins>

Someone already did this for Gargoyles. They titled it, "The one
where the gang gets Wings." (From the episode where Manhatten was
transformed and every human became a gargoyle)

Hey.. I might even try this myself, but as I'm not too good at
portraying Ranma characters, everyone else, go ahead! I can see say.. the
Mr. Kotter's class trying to deal with it!

How well would a fanfic travel that features the characters of Ranma in a
new setting, Vista High School, instead of Furinkan High. They would be
esentially americanized versions of themselves, reacting around an
americanized environment. Well? Should I start writing, or back to the
drawing board?

Go back to the drawing board :0

Seriously, I don't particularly see the point.

Hmm... I can see it.. however a large part of what makes Ranma 1/2
is the Japanese culture. Most likely by placing it in an American culture
you'll most likely lose a) arranged marriage b) a great deal of the
martial arts c) half of the personalities.
The end result may be interesting, but that remains questionable.
With alot of planning and creative liberties, I give the project a maybe.
