Seriously, I don't particularly see the point.

If I wanted to read about a non-Japanese Ranma cast, I'd just go and watch
more Viz dubs!!! But, seriously, I don't think it would work ... I don't
want to know about how Americans would react in that situation - it wouldn't
happen to begin with. There's the first problem of getting anyone INTO that
situation - unless America's weirder than I think, there aren't problems of
parents getting two kids engaged at birth ... And what would they be instead
of martial artists? Kids from some gang or something? Turning Ranma into
an American thing would just kill it for me ... What country would they get
the curses from? Canada? No, you can't swim there... Hawaii? But then, the
kouchou would have to have another fetish that isn't Hawaiian... It just
wouldn't work ... and if I wanted to see weird people at non-Japanese place,
I'd go look at the schools around here... :p  Americanising anything seems
to kill it, from what I've heard of and seen ... I don't see it working in
this case, either... *shrug*

But, write it if you want ... You never know, you may do a good job at it.
