Appendix "A"

ADP Squad 'Q':

ADP Squad Q is unusual, consisting of five people.

Named Squad Q because it was the first available letter, the
squad has gained a reputation as the 'Question Squad' due to their
investigations into the more unusual and weird happenings in the city.
Because of this rumours have abounded from being the 'Who squad' to
being the 'Star Trek Squad' because of some of the equipment and
weapons they have as well as the fact that they can take over any
investigation in ADP at any time.
Started by Chief Ichinohei with three inspectors and one
secretary, the squad has had the highest arrest and conviction
record within the modern city of Mega-Tokyo. This has led to some
jealousy by other squads and police organizations within the city
since, after the inception of the squad and their high profile
successes, they have been given some of the best funding in the city.
It is known that throughout the departments that the Chief is still
trying to staff many positions and it has caused a fierce competition
which has raised the investigative abilities of all the services. This
might have something to do with the fact that all personnel in the
squad are on permanent emergency pay.
With the squads successes, the politicians have let the Chief,
with little interference, run her squad as she likes, basically
providing only money. For them this serves two purposes; it makes it
look like they are actually doing something and keeps a possible thorn
in their sides out of the way. Unfortunately for them, the squads
formation has reduced the amount of paperwork that ADP as a whole
had to do.
Some of the more unusual devices that they have are labeled
'Experimental' and 'On Loan' through various sources, some known only
to the Chief. It is known that some of the equipment is from Genom
while others are from overseas companies which want a foothold into
the Japanese economy. If she ever gets enough money, the Chief has
plans in the works for battle suits that are a lot better than normal;
something that is needed if they are to ever capture the Knight
Sabers.

Full Inspectors:

Leon McNichol.

Leon is one of the more unusual inspectors assigned to Squad Q.
Basically, he is a tough, well meaning individual and an incredibly
intuitive inspector who's abilities at solving crimes and puzzles is
second to none. For the most part, he presents a pleasant demeanor
to the world, but he is keeping many, many secrets and is in on one
that could mean the end of his career and jail if it was ever found out
by anyone.
In love with Priss Asagiri who is, as far as he knows, the sister
of his fellow officer Bert Van Vliet, he is always trying to find ways
to get on her good side, even going so far as to follow the slightest
suggestions from Priss. Suffice it to say, he has it bad for her, but
not bad enough that he does not end up being annoyed and deluged with
complaints about 'a female boomer with an energy blade.' To his
amazement, she sometimes laughs at this statement although he has no
idea why she finds being considered a sexaroid so funny.
As for his greatest secret, the knowledge of who the Knight
Sabers really are, he had begun to figure it out a while back. (See
Bubblegum Zone #9 for details.) In this history, while trying to find
out who Bert was, he found out about him seeing Priss. Annoyed, but
curious about what she would have to do with a person who he did not
suspect of being a criminal, but a former covert operations agent for
the government, he began to do some checking on her and trying to
find out some more about Bert's past. Having seen Priss being kissed
on the cheek by Bert and knowing Nene's anger during the past while,
he suspected that she was now seeing him.
While he loved her and wanted to get close, he was not about to
interfere in any decision of hers concerning who she loved or was
seeing. Leon did feel, however, that Priss should be warned about the
possibility of danger being associated with Bert. He told her about
his suspicions and the investigation that he had been conducting into
the Silver Knight Saber's past. After debating it for about thirty
seconds, Priss decided to use what Leon had told her adding to it by
saying that Bert was her brother. The reason that the two of them
didn't discuss it much or really acknowledge it was that Bert had been
chased by an organization that wanted his engineering skills. She
then told Leon that Bert had been afraid for Nene's safety and that
was what had caused their falling out. Given that Leon had found
several military rounds that belonged to the mercenaries brought in
by the 'Batman', he believed what she had told him.
But that didn't stop him from being curious and he accidentally
discovered that Bert was SkyKnight when in a dream he remembered the
fact that SkyKnight's helmet had received an emergency call asking
for Bert and Sylia. Given that Bert's actions had matched SkyKnight's
and that Sylia was also known to him after a bit of investigation, it
was not hard to put together the fact that Sylia, Bert, and Nene were
members of the Knight Sabers. It was only later after the appearance
of Bert and Priss' Jedi powers did he learn that Priss, Sylvie, Anri,
and Linna were also members of the group when he doubled for
SkyKnight.
Later, he met Bert and Priss' 'cousin', Darlene Stefanson, who he
assumes has come to the city to go to school. During a date with her,
he learned about a young, extremely able engineer named Darryl
'Twister' Storm. Agreeing to meet the young man and to try to have
him work on the ADP battle units, he arranged for him to come into the
station. He likes and respects the young man, who he considers to be
unusual, but of vast help to the ADP. In the meantime, Leon has been
seen with Darlene on several occasions, but he is not really
interested in her. He believes by keeping Darlene happy he'll have a
better chance with Priss. The brown haired officer sometimes jokes
with the young red head by calling her 'Kid' after watching a few of the
Star Wars episodes since she is only seventeen, much to her
annoyance. To him, her efforts to act somewhat older prove that she
still has much to learn.
He also believes that Darlene might also be a Jedi.

Daley Wong.

      Leon's longtime erstwhile partner.
He is a very good and able investigator and an excellent field
commander of the military like troops that ADP has. A very
conscientious person, he looks out for the men under his command
more than other field commanders have during the various boomer
crisis that have plagued Mega-Tokyo. In many cases, it has been
Daley's careful troop management and tactical decisions that have
kept casualties down to an absolute minimum.
More easy going and relaxed than Leon, he makes investigations
look simple compared to his partner. His technique, of using
unorthodox sources of information that would be dismissed by many
other officers, and of using an extremely defined system of logic has
made him seem to be an investigative genius. More often, he is willing
to 'overlook' a lot of things if he gets the information that he
requires to help save lives, which is of more importance to him than
putting someone in jail for a minor crime.
He also figured out long ago that Nene was more than she
seemed.
Not one to really pry into her affairs, he did note that she
tended to disappear when the worst of the boomer crisis hit,
sometimes coming back with bruises or other ailments which is what
Leon picked up on later on. Having admired the Knight Sabers and the
fact that four women and one man were able to keep the entire city
from falling into despair, he noted that the only times the pink
armoured Knight Saber failed to appear was when Nene could not get
away from ADP. Doing a little bit of a background check on who she
spent time with, as well as some checking through the networks on
some of the things that Nene 'happened' across for Leon, he was able
to figure out what was going on. He has never let anyone know what he
has figured out, and has let things 'accidentally' happen to enable the
Knight Sabers to get away.
Daley has only one real problem with the situation he finds
himself in at work and that has to do with his partner. He is
completely infatuated with Leon and would like nothing better than to
become his lover. He does know of Leon's sexual orientation however
and has never pushed the issue.

Nene Romanova.

An Inspector, Junior Grade, she was the one who unknowingly
caused the squad's formation.
When she had split with Bert, (See Bubblegum Zone #9) Nene tried
to bury herself in work in order to forget her troubles. She had not
realized that in her zeal to do something to forget her situation, she
would be revealing that she had many investigative skills which Sylia
had drilled into her over the years. The Chief noted the clear,
precise, and logical reports coming from a woman who should have been
dead on her feet from overwork and her head buzzing from sugar and
caffeine overload. This enabled the Chief to put into place a plan she
had been working on quite a while.
With Nene's promotion to Inspector, Junior Grade, she was
transferred to the newly formed Squad Q in order to back up and
'learn' from Leon and Daley's greater experience. After only a month,
Nene found herself working on her first solo case in which she
distinguished herself. The kind hearted pink Knight Saber used the
new steel that had formed in herself to carry out one of the hardest
decision in her life and that forced her to re-evaluate what she had
said and done to Bert. She realized that both of them would have to
work hard to overcome the obstacles that both of them had placed in
the way through lack of communications and not wanting to hurt the
others feelings. She came to realize that this was not the way to
conduct a relationship if they really wanted it to survive.
Nene finally realized that she had been depending too much on
the others both to protect her and to provide emotional support.
That was when she decided to leave her childhood behind her and
become the adult she was. Since then, she has become the squad's
communications and computer wizard as well as an able field
investigator.
Given that the squad is positioned in front of the Chief's office
both on the main level and in the revised level, Nene has a better
opportunity to keep advised on matters that may concern the Knight
Sabers.

Bert Van Vliet.

A full Inspector by the decision of a benefactor he dispises, he
is using the squads resources to try and find Ethan Hollister, the
one man he hates above all others.
The 'Jedi', as he is more commonly known as, Bert can usually be
found in the office going through the computer and files with a fine
tooth comb as it were when he is not off somewhere investigating.
The only officers that he is comfortable around are Leon, Daley,
Nene, Hitomi, and Naoko, the rest of the staff being very nervous
about this strange young man in the black uniform. In fact, he is so
out of place in the station that visitors who do not know about him
ask what his job is there and if he is one of the support staff.
Of course the pure black uniform that he wears, combined with
the lightsaber and the 'energy pistol' of his own design have caused a
few problems. Combined with several unusual incidents which Squad Q's
support staff have seen, this has caused more comments and rumours
to go around about the squad than anything else. Of course Bert
doesn't really mind, he is there to find one person and that's it. Any
decisions about staying with the squad after that is something that
he says he'll think about later. Of course, he is having a hell of a
good time, and his caseload is building since people consider him the
'perfect choice' for any of the more unusual incidents.
Genom is extremely interested in his abilities.

Naoko.

This brown-headed young woman is one of Nene's best friends
and a constant gossip, resulting in numerous half understood rumours
which have served only to enhance Squad Q's reputation for weird
cases, circumstances, and happenings.
If truth be known, Naoko was overwhelmed at being chosen to
become a part of this new group, not realizing that her reputation for
being talkative within the station was the main reason she was
chosen. As the offices chief gossip, she is able to find information
out for the members of the squad and often does not realize that she
holds key bits and pieces of information for cases they are working
on. Most often, she tends to 'leak' information to those outside of
the immediate group and that sometimes brings in interesting leads.
It also has the tendency to make the other officers attempt to
increase their skills and what they do since her glowing reports to
the other office girls make Squad Q the dream investigations squad to
join.
Naoko started to get starry eyed about a lot of things
happening in the department after Nene was engaged to Bert. The
diamond that her red-headed friend was wearing was HUGE. She did the
best she could in handling some of Nene's overload, especially after
the red-headed computist started to drift off and look at her ring.
With Bert coming into the office more often, she got to know him a bit
better and struck up a friendship with him as well. Naoko became
extremely worried about Nene after she had been kidnapped and
understood how Bert felt, enough so that she snuck him some
information that the Chief specifically said that he was not to have
as he was not a police officer.
After Nene was rescued and Bert's powers were revealed, she
was surprised but took it well, the incidents that had been happening
over the past year having a great influence on that.
Currently she is intrigued by a young man that she knows as
Twister after he was able to identify her without them having ever
met. She knows that he is some kind of engineer and given Nene's luck
with engineers, is thinking perhaps he might be a good catch. Naoko
assists him whenever he is in the building and has started to stare at
him with complete and total fascination, much to the young man's
embarrassment.

Headquarters

When ADP Headquarters was attacked by a series of boomers
created by the scientist, Dr. Mariam, (See Bubblegum Zone # ), several
sections of the building were damaged, including one section where
SkyKnight had saved the niece of the previous Chief. Although most
of it could be repaired, the section in which SkyKnight was had to be
replaced and since there was not enough funds at the time, the area
was closed. Inspector Ichinohei had seen an opportunity and since
she knew she was up for a promotion soon, she started to work in her
spare time to get that section ready for something new.
If she had known that she would be promoted to the position of
Chief, she would have worked faster.
Over time, the area's wiring was revised to comply with what she
eventually wanted, an office overlooking a tactical display area and
map. The idea was originally to have this office to better understand
boomer movements and provide desperately needed strategy
overviews for the Chief. Since then this area has been expanded to
include personnel that were not originally planned for including the
experimental Squad Q.
Basically Squad Q has two sets of offices; one here in Special
Tactical and another in the regular section. The regular section is
where they handle most interviews and have visitors come in. Most of
the time this is manned by Naoko and Nene with the Chief sitting in the
office behind them. There are also desks in this section for Leon,
Daley, and Bert, although they are hardly ever there. Special
Tactical has the same arrangement of office and desks with system
overrides designed to 'break in' to any communications in the National
Police Force and Data Interconnect Investigations Database; the only
system designed to do so.
In addition, Special Tactical has an equipment room just off of
it to whom only the members of Squad Q and the Chief have access.

The Chief.

Chief Inspector Hitomi Ichinohei is an over-cafinated woman who
tends to go over the edge trying to handle her trouble shooting
squad.
The red headed Chief Inspector of the ADP can usually be found
at the office reading and doing reports, although there have been a
few times in which she has disappeared. This started to occur after
SkyKnight went out of his way to embarrass the ADP (See Bubblegum
Zone #9). Her personal contact within a high technology firm, her
elder sister Oneiko Tokugawa, provided her with an updated armour
suit similar to what their mothers used to wear. She has used this
special suit to try to capture only one person, SkyKnight, although
she is after all the Knight Sabers.
Squad Q is her special team of highly able officers that are on
call for any possible situation. Using some strings and old favours
from high school and university, as well as personal contacts from
people within the various groups she belonged to, she was able to
arrange a special operating agreement for this squad that is
basically the government keeps a hands off attitude in most cases.
Hitomi's preference in officers has nothing to do with seniority,
bravado, or show off on high profile political cases, but with a person
being able to get the job done.
Unfortunately, she had absolutely no opportunity to put Squad
Q into operation since it would require a minimum of four people, of
which she only had two officers who were qualified.
That was when Nene demonstrated her ability to do
investigative work.
Using this excuse, the Chief then set up the organization on the
following basis:

Nene as the office investigator using her ability with computer
networks to provide information to the team as well as starting to
learn how to conduct field investigations.
Leon as the public view officer who provided good public
relations as well as a large amount of investigative ability.
Daley as the quiet investigator who could go where others could
not.
Naoko as the general secretary and unofficial 'public
relations'.
She had Bert thrown at her much to her consternation.

Of course, she has a few secrets that she keeps from everyone
else.

R2-D2.

This cute little droid is Nene's helper and companion with one
failing; he's too interested in humans.
When Bert first created R2, the idea was to have him as part of
the X-wing fighter he had been building for himself. He had never
really planned to activate the small droid or use the X-wing, being
more of the mind that these hobbies would be too dangerous to
release, not to mention too hard to hide. Besides, Sylia would have
gladly used her palm blasters on him if he did so.
So it was with some amusement that when he got back from
Twister's dimension, he started to program the little fellow to be a
helper. Unfortunately, Bert had been rushed and with Nene being
kidnapped, made practical instead of polite decisions in the
programing. This has led R2 to have an absolute facination with all
humans who he considers to be the ultimate escape.
Of course this tends to make the droid a bit absent minded,
curious, and somewhat careless when he finds out more information on
this wonderful species.
While he is completely loyal to Nene, and does look up to Bert
from time to time, he tends to wander around the station poking
sensors, and grapling fingers, into places they shouldn't be. The
appearance of R2 combined with what they have already seen of Squad
Q has caused more rumours than ever to crop up. One of the true ones
about R2 is that Nene is the only one who can understand his beeps
and whistles without looking for a translation on a screen. Nene does
not even realize she is doing this and puts it off to people not trying
to understand the little fellow's emotional side.
Of course, given R2's propensity for practical jokes, Priss
would gladly kill him.

AD-17.

He was the first suit completed by Twister when he was
recreating the thing from cheap, virtually useless parts. In fact, his
first action was so impressive when Leon had worn him that the
alternate Knight Saber had run his hand over the armour plating in
awe and delight. Of course, there were many more things inside of AD
which were not tested out at that time.
Which means do NOT leave a bored droid around without giving
him specific instructions about where to go.
R2 had gotten bored later that night, having mail-bombed
several thousand areas of the Internet, and decided to do some
exploring again. Coming upon the garage, which he assumed to be an
area for repairing droids, he took stock of the various machines
there and interfaced with the revised AD-17. Finding virtually
nothing inside, R2 then proceeded to raid the special store room off
of Special Tactical and made off with many components with which he
used to create a robot brain for AD. Programing AD with his own base
programing and adding interfaces and other minor changes to the
software, R2 then instructed AD to remain there and study stuff on
the net while he went to find Nene.
As mentioned earlier, do not leave a bored droid around.
He left the ADPolice station and started to explore the city,
not realizing that his appearance would panic the city as people would
think that there were rogue boomers somewhere around. This
excitement went one for a while until Nene flew down to stop him in
Bert's X-Wing. AD has since become the only sentient battlesuit the
ADPolice have.
Meanwhile, Nene has yet to let Bert have the keys to X-Wing
back.

Appendix "B"

The New Characters:

Misa Takimoto

Misa Takimoto is a young 12 year old black haired, brown eyed
girl with her head in the clouds most of the time.
She isn't an airhead or uneducated, she just lives in a
dreamworld where she thinks she has the power to save the planet. In
a time where bad things keep happening around her, she loves looking
at Anime and other shows for young children, most especially at
Magical Girl stories which help to give her a lot of hope. Her favorite
story centres around a sixteen year old girl known in her magical form
as 'Lady Silver, Protector of the Just'.
Her mother, indulging her daughter, made her a costume which
looks exactly like that of her favourite heroine and she recently
bought a broach that looks a lot like the one worn by the animated
character. It was while watching her favorite program after school
that she was rubbing the broach and said 'Silver Power Activate' at
the same time a tremendous burst of magical energy, released by
Mackie Stingray, happened. Since she had some access to abilities she
didn't even know she had, they activated and because of her
unconcious desire, empowered both the costume she was wearing and
the broach. The broach now provides some limited weapons, based
entirely upon the show and what she saw used, as well as stores the
now magical suit or her street clothes depending on the mode it is in.
In her 'magical' form she has silver hair and eyes, and acts
sickenly cute, much to Sho's embarassment. He knows who she is since
his adopted sister happened to change in front of him to prevent his
being kidnapped by a boomer. He tends to try to make sure that she
doesn't get into trouble; a hard task since she wants to go on
adventures like her heroine.

Alan Wiliamson

A young man from Winnipeg, Canada who is disgusted with himself
most of the time.
Alan has some trouble accepting the fact that he is not as good
as he makes himself out to be, concentrating on building his body and
other physical activities to the detriment of his accademic record.
When his powers came into existance, the explosive power of them sent
him to the Health Science Centre, a provincial medical facility, for
treatment. His parents and sister told the police and the doctors
how they found him and an investigation revealed nothing out of the
ordinary, although the case is still open.
He himself was disgusted and angry, not wanting to go to
university, and certainly not back to his high school. When he was
able to leave the hospital, he went out to a field to practice his
martial arts when his powers flared again in response to his anger.
Quincy, who had been on the lookout for such possibilities, has
offered the young man a position with the company and an opportunity
to continue using his abilities without interferance. He would have
to take some education courses, but Genom would be more than willing
to help support him and his family.
The young man jumped at the chance.

Tanisa Carr

A young scottish lady who is into literature and romantic
languages.
She is actually the quietist of this group of individuals whose
abilities were realeased with the magical blast. For her, she wants
no adventures, no earthshaking heroism to be involved in. She wants
to teach. Period.
Unfortunately, situations will arise which will force her to use
her new found powers and the book which allows her to do so much
research. In this she will meet a young man, who kills many while
destroying an area for the Genom corporation. Tanisa was helpless
to stop him, much less opose what he was doing in a big way.
Determined to bring justice to him for the destruction of the people
and the natural refuge area, she traces him to Japan. Her home, which
was once a beautiful, natural area is destroyed and she wants
nothing but revenge.

Appendix "C"

Some people from other dimensions...:

Bert Van Vliet

Knight Saber, Jedi Knight, and a pain in Sylia's side
As is well known, Bert is a transferee from another dimension
who has found himself a true home here in one of the Knight Saber
universes. While this might seem unusual, and in a lot of cases, the
person who was transfered would be trying to get back, the place
suits him well. He would not willingly leave this universe for
anything, even a chance to go back to his true home so many
dimensions away. He has yet to admit that to himself however, and he
probably never will admit it to himself.
Of course this had led to changes, both in this universe and his
life.
When Bert first came, Sylia had an option, kill him or keep him.
Not wanting to do so immediately, and curious as to how much he
actually knew about Knight Saber operations, she kept him around, the
old adage, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" being
the order of the day. When she relented and started to trust him, he
promptly went out and got into trouble.
A constant sort of thing, much to Sylia consternation, and
probable developing ulcer.

Natsumi

Originally from one of the Ranma timelines, this young magic
user is completely infatuated with a certain Knight-in-Shining-
Armour.
Natsumi is the latest in a long line of magic users living in
Ranma's dimension. She has always had a lot of confidence in herself
and her abilities, much to the rather acute consternation of several
people, including Twister and Bert. She was sent to a certain
university in Tokyo to study with the only teacher offering a
bachelors course in magic, Professor Kitamura Miyabi. (See Twisted
Path #2) It was during the second year of her studies that she ran
into a young lady, one Itzazuka Tendo who was not only easily able to
outdo her in the magical department, but was apparently the protege
of the professor.
It was then that she determined that she was going to get this
girl, who had already caused her great embarassment. At the same
time, she was after Twister, who she found to be an amazingly atlethic
and unusual man. She was surprised to find out they were one and the
same person, and that combined with a magical battle, changed her
attitude towards people and her outlook on life. She still persued
Twister however to the consternation of Nabiki Tendo.
After Twister left his universe and came back, she realized that
he had set his sights on Nabiki and no one else. Who should drop in at
that time except for one person who was amazingly like Twister in
attitude, personality, and jokes. (See Twisted Path #4) Bert, who had
just saved her from a spell he himself had sent awry, was the new
focus of her efforts to find a permanent boyfriend and possible
husband. Given that he was extremely shy and nervous only
encouraged her.
Before Bert left her universe, she stuck a magical marker to him
and traced him to his home dimension. She has set herself up there as
a rising star on the stage circuit, and is enjoying a success she
probably would not have enjoyed in her home dimension. This has
caused Bert no end of troubles as he is nervous about this young
magic user who looks at him with stars in her eyes.
She has since become one of Linna's teachers in magic.

Twister

"To those who deal in Death, I show them a royal flush."

Known alias:

Darren Steffler (Twisted Path #1)
Itazuka Tendo (Twisted Path #2)
Darlene Stefanson (Twisted Path #3)
Valanna Ellantora(The Elf) (Twisted Path #3)
Darryl Storm (An Alternate History of the Bubblegum Zone #13)

Easily the most individually powerful person Bert knows,
Twister came to his universe to fulfil a promise and saved Nene's life.
Because of an extremely slow aging rate, this apparently young
man/woman is actually in his late thirties, but was only around
twenty-two when he first met Bert in a Ranma universe(See Twisted
Path #4). He is the main reason, though accidental, that Bert gained
his powers as a Jedi. Having similar backgrounds, the two eventually
became friends after some initial problems.
However, even though he has remained mostly the same in
personality, Twister has gone through some personality changes from
the stay in the last universe he was in and is now more experienced.
When Bert first met him, he was very reluctant to kill a human being.
That has changed due to emotional trauma and now he will kill a person
if it is necessary. In his female form, Darlene reacts the opposite to
this and will now avoid, at all costs, to take a life.
Still, as always, Twister is reluctant to use his full powers in
either form and has prevented casual use of psionics during his stay
in Bert's universe.
He has taken advantage of this unexpected trip and plans to
relax, doing repair work for ADPolice. Bert takes this in stride while
the other Knight Sabers wonder about the dual-sexed character. Leon
has taken a liking to the surprising Darlene, but has no serious
intentions towards her. Naoko, on the other hand, finds herself being
very attracted to Twister. Both may find themselves surprised.
Twister slowly finds himself getting caught up in events as
people begin to see the powers and abilities he possesses, some with
malicious intent.
They don't seem to realize that irritating Twister might be a
mistake.
He can live up to his name.

Appendix "D"

The Knight Sabers...:

Sylia Stingray

When Sylia Stingray put together the Knight Sabers as an
organization to gain her revenge against Genom, she had no idea that
things would change so drastically in such a short period of time.
Although the Knight Sabers were originally supposed to work and
eventually destroy Genom, she has since discovered that the group
would not be able to do this in the manner she originally intended.
Since then, she is taking a slow action through various channels to
bring about either the demise or a change in operation of the
company. She is trying for a combined political/business solution to
counter what Quincy has done with her fathers creations.
Her organization has grown greatly over the past few years,
from the original four fighting members to six fighters and a field
medical/infiltration specialist. Of course, this causes her some
concern, although she has never put into effect rule 11 of the Knight
Sabers. Unconciously, Sylia tends to treat all of the group members
as her children, each in a different way:

Linna is treated almost as the eldest child and is technically
the second in command of the group.
Nene has always been the youngest, both in age and in actions.
Sylia has always tried to keep her from the worst of the situations,
but has never lied to this young woman. She does want Nene to be
happy and hopes that her marriage to Bert will go well.
Priss is one of her two 'problem children'. She tends to treat
the brown haired singer as her impetuous, but troubled, teenager.
Bert is her other 'problem child'. She tends to think of him as a
combination idealistic kid and impatient, hyperactive child. Of
course, the fact that he and Priss tend to go off and 'redefine solo
activities' does have something to do with it. She also tends to think
of the Bert, Priss and Sylvie as sometimes being triplets.
Anri is one young woman whom she treats very delicately, given
her very non-violent disposition and the fact that she is still
recovering from being raped. Since she still wanted to help, Sylia had
her uncle help her by making Anri at first a nurse, and later, a
general practitioner without a licence. Anri has gradully become the
one treated as the youngest since Nene has done some growing up.
Sylia is happy with this group of incredibly gifted people and,
although she does not say so out loud, is proud of them as any parent
would be.

The Chi-Di:

The Chi-Di are a special type of warrior that is actually part of
Japanese history. They were a particular group, what English speakers
would call a sect, of Samurai who believed that the life force of
individuals flowed from various areas on the body. Sometime in the past,
they learned the techniques for accupunture and accupreasure, causing the
Chi to flow in certain directions, how to tell what ailed a body just by
the flow of a persons pulse, etc. It is known that they learned this
from monks of some type since they also took on the aspects of following,
developing, and refining religious and universal philosphies.

The philosophy that I am following here is one of the more interesting
ones contained within the scrolls that have survived. In these
particular sets of scrolls, they were comparing how the opposites in the
universe functioned, and as part of that function, how the universes were
created in the first place. Interestingly, they had dismissed the idea
of there actually being Gods and Goddesses as the rest of the population
had believed them to be.

They went into a short historical record of what had occured in the past,
and the stories told , not only of the origin of Nihon, and the birth of
Amaterasu, but also those origin stories of other lands, including India,
China, and some parts of the Middle East. In this they had concluded
that Devine Entities both did and did not exist as we knew them. In
particular, they came up with the theory of dimensional stability based
upon other peoples. In particular, this meant that ANY story told and
enjoyed occured somewhere, if not in this universe, in another.

It also meant that the story creators could be creating universes.

Over the centuries, this philosphy was expanded and added to, and the
last scroll I have, dating from 1863 AD had expanded that concept to
being that it was possible to change a persons place by changing
dimensional realities.

Taking this, I have expanded it somewhat, but not very much. I still
need to study a LOT of philosophy if I am even to begin scratching the
survice of the ways of the Chi-Di. If I am right, it will take a lifetime.

In any case, the Chi-Di in this series do not have great or wonderful
powers, such as the ability to throw balls of force, or set up soul
shieldings, but instead a more benign ability such as that of speeding up
the healing factor of people by about forty or fifty times, focusing the
ways of fighting, and to use the life energy in effective, but less
powerful ways. As the series progresses, more will be said about their
powers.

Genom Corporation:

Quincy.

The 'Old Man' of Genom rules the corporation with a tight fist
and loyalty from Katherine Madagan and Alan Wiliamson.
This man, whom everyone would say is one of the most cold
hearted bastards, has one ideal in mind; a dynasty that will last a
thousand years. With this in mind, he set out to conquer the world
through the modern country, the multi-national. Using the resources
of Genom, he actively sought out various products that could be used
to give Genom virtual control of the planet. That is when he came
across a scientist by the name of Stingray. Dr. Stingray had
developed a new technology called boomers, which he distinguished
from cyborg or android technology by pointing out that these
machines were not supposed to become sentient.
All Quincy saw was the oportunity to take over most of the
worlds manufacturing and other concerns if he could control this
technology.
No one knows for certain if Quincy had a hand in Dr. Stingrays
death, or the deaths of many other people who helped to develop
Boomer technology, but it is known that he somehow acquired the
patent rights to all boomer technology. Genom thus became the only
company capable of legally producing the beings known as boomers and
thus the only entity entitled to know the technologies. At first, like
all things, Genom was more open and honest. In fact, the early
reputation of the company to be above board and concerned for
humans is what they survive on, the truth of the matter being hidden
from most people. Quincy and his company were well on the way to
taking over, and with the fortuitous earthquake of 2025, the virtual
owners of Tokyo.
Of course, Quincy has many contacts, and he has certain
obligations that he has never told anyone about. One of these
concerns his chief assistant Katherine Madagan, for whom he is more
than willing to give up his life for. Why he would be willing to do so
for someone who is only an employee is something that not even the
impeturbable Madagan knows.

Katherine Madagan

Alan Wiliamson.

It had to happen sooner or later, Quincy has found his own Jedi
to manipulate.
After being recruited by Quincy, the young man started to learn
all he could from several films and other files that they had
collected, including those from security devices that they had hidden
in the gymnasium. When he saw what Bert was able to do, he was more
than intrigued, he was slightly jelous. He also noted the tapes
showing Priss and was told about the suspicions that they had
concerning Bert and Priss' cousin Darlene. He also noted something
that he didn't tell Quincy about, letting the old man assume that he
always had access to these abilities which was why he trained in the
martial arts.
These Jedi had fallen when he had gained his own powers.
He wasn't sure what the possible connection could be, but he
was sure that there was one.

The Clan:

Current Master: Kage (no known last name)

Not much is known about the Clan, save they dance in the
shadows. Known more for being extremely adept assassins, their true
purpose remains a mystery.
One theory is that this clan of martial artists has loosely
aligned themselves with Darkness, even as the Chi-Di has done the
same with the Light. It seems to bear out as there is friction between
the two clans whenever they come to the same area. Whether this is
true or not: the Clan's Master currently hates the Chi-Di with a dark
passion.
The followers of the Clan all possess ability in ki to some
degree, though the lower ranks use this only to hide in shadow. The
higher ranking Clan can utilize it in greater measures and in
offensive and defensive ways.
Kage, being the Master, is the most powerful in ki ability.
