I can't place how you could personally want yourself in a fanfic, but it
does prove a point.  It shows how badly some fanfic authors can slaughter
the characters.  Takahashi's team spent hours designing these characters,
and some fanfics totally go against their morals.

I'm not trying to reap the fun out of making an interesting fanfic. 
Sure, maybe there will be a lemon scene, but Akane isn't just going to
overnight become a sex-maniac.  If you're going to adjust the characters'
morals, it needs to be a gradual change.  Moral is something in a person
that doesn't change easily... so you either need to show this adjustment
over time, or state in the beginning that for example (generic
declaration of moral change) "Akane has been hanging out with a new group
of kids, and their habits have slowly rubbed off, and Akane has tried
several drugs, such as..."   At least the reader won't be taken by
surprise by the new actions that the character makes with this statement
being made.

If an author just jumps into change without notice to the reader, then it
pretty much becomes a story about some made-up characters with the Ranma
cast likenesses.  It would be like me taking somebody's creation such as
Spider-Man, which has taken over 30 years to develop,  and depicting him
as a homosexual rapist on Broadway without ever explaining in the story
why he no longer acts like the humoristic hero.

Well, just some thoughts.
