to show ones wit by making sidelong jabs and sarcastic wisecracks at
people and their mannerisms. for instance, didn't you have a nerd-
contingent in your school that makes wisecracks about the things you

True, I've done this myself, but what i was trying to comment on was the sudden
sharp increase on the excessively violent ones. As you can see we now have
another major debate about SPAMing the ML, which is one of the few types
of mail that REALLY annoys me because all I usually see are the people who
are against SPAM attacking those of us who do it, and generally being
annoyed. I know this isn't true, but the way i often see them from there
complaints is wanting another RAAC, without the interaction that gives this ML
its life. Actually, there is one other kind of message that annoys me, where
people attack each other, and not in fun. Some of the things that have passed
recently have pointed in this rather ugly direction, and that is what I was
afraid of.
with statements that are guaranteed to cause others to explode, like making
comments about kun-chan, or the best fiancee, or trying to reopen the age
old FFML spam debate. Its REALLY starting to get out of hand.
wouldn't this ml feel kinda...EMPTY...w/o th' SPAM? we need it to
feel alive! uh, i think.
WOAH!!! TIME OUT! I LIKE THE SPAM! I don't want it to stop. True, some
of us need to cut back a bit, a lession I learned after WW threatened to kick
me off the list, but overall, I like how things are set up. What I was saying
is that we should try to avoid these highly polarized issues that get people
just short of being up in arms and attacking each other. We've managed to
keep most things friendly here, but what I'd noticed is several changes
in the way people were responding that looked like things could get uglier.
I'm not complaining about the spam loads, just about a type of spam that
would hurt the ml as a whole. heck, the spam actually gave me the courage to
strat trying to write my own fic, though RL time problems have forced me
to constantly put it on the back burner. *sigh* oh, well. i'll get off my
soap box now.
