I have to disagree with this; I've seen many fathers call their daughters
various cute nicknames, from "princess" to "pumpkin" to
"frogface". I think it's a great idea to have Ranma use that kind of a
knickname; it helps us understand how much his daughter means to him.

Yeah, in America. I've never heard of "hime" being used as a term of
endearment. Now, something analagous to "pumpkin" may work (though
what it'd be, I don't know), though "frogface" seems doubtful too...
