You guys are royally pissing me off. I've asked nicely for you to stop

Last chance. Quit the spam or I moderate the list.

Is that accually feasable? I may be going a bit far here, but from what I
don't know, but have a strong suspision that you wouldn't have time to go
through all the messages every day and select which ones to send out and
which ones not to. Can we please look at this realistically?

Let's start with some moderation options:

1) WW filters through all the messages every night, forwarding along only
the ones that are fanfics, or that are c&c to fanfics.

cons: (a) White Wolf spend 3 hours every night moderating, at first, then
the number of messages dies down as people get bored and start to
unsubscribe. Eventually WW is the only one left and eventually closes the
list (remember the life cycle of a mailing list) from sheer boredom.

2> WW sends the messages of people who spam to /dev/null. WW has lots of
free time, but....

cons: (a) Everyone spams (even WW, but he only spams about how irritated he
is with everyone else spamming). In fact, the people who post the most
fanfiction type stuff tend to spam the most. Just won't work.

3) WW has the software delay all messages by exactly 24 hours. This kills
most rapid fire spam, since 24 hour delays can severely put a put a damper
on rapid fire replies.

cons: (a) lack of spam, and most of the cons from #1. This would also put
a damper on good intelegent conversation as well. Unless WW can come online
and express forward 'important messages', this could be fairly unhealty for
the list.

4) WW stops munging the reply-to: headers in the messages. Unless people
are spamming on purpose, they won't post to the list. A good essay on this
can be found at http://www.unicom.com/FAQ/reply-to-harmful.html . Take a
look at it, it's interesting.

cons: (a) Can't think of any off the top of my head. Maybe that people
will need a new place to spam, since spamming to the list will require the
concious modification of the to: header.

Anyways, WW, please take this with a good sense of humor, and think about
un-munging the reply-to: header. I really do enjoy this list and I also
think that the spam gets to be a bit much at times.
