Well, you can decide for yourself if Ukyou is underhanded, mean and 
nasty or not from the list of when she's appeared in the manga, and
what she did of note...

I've only bothered to do up to the okonomiyaki sauce episode, from the
manga, because basically everyone agrees she's nasty after this. If
you want me to try to look through the rest of the manga, I can, when
I get the time...

If I made up a list of all the times that Akane has delivered
crippling blows to Ranma, it would be much worse than the list below.

You might note that nothing in your list deliberately hurts/injures
Ranma -- the actions are all attempts to get the two of them together.

I'd expect no less from a girl who was infatuated with someone :)
This to me, makes Ukyou more 'normal' than Akane.  Akane is permanently
stuck with the mentality of a twelve year old, whereas Ukyou seems
to have graduated to late HS.  

In any case, it doesn't look like there will be any converts in this
holiest of holy wars, so ... :)
