Not really.
The lack of names and attributions hinted that these characters
were *not* the obvious ones. Later additions (like the wife not
knowing about the katana's origin) strengthened that suspicion.
So I thought about who *could* this be. Considering the title, I
thought, that maybe this was a future Scene in which Ranma is
training his own son, but then the father started acting so bloody
crummy, that I thought "No way!" I never thought that this could
be one generation *before* the one we know about. D'oh!
Very nice misleading and good plotting. A serious fic about a
serious subject.
