It's named Childhood's End (it's not by me), everyone dies at the end, and
I'm planning to do a sequel.

How do you do a sequel when 
everybody's lying dead at the bottom of a bloody pit?

You rewrite the ending.  Two people have written alternate endings to it
already.

I hope to change the ending as little as possible, if at all.
