<snip Zens idea...intriguing as it is>
Well, another alternative would be to have Ranma stay pregnant
even when he turns back to male. Larry Nivens did a neat story about
Superman having kids, eventually concluding that he'd be the only one
strong enough to bear the child. Supposedly there's enough room in a
male to fit a kid... although delivery would require a C-section. Kinda
like 'Junior', I guess.
Heh...watched that movie. But the baby would be jostled too much
slipping in between one form & another...after all, in Junior, Arnies character
stays male...he just cross dresses a bit. In addition, there is the need for
the placenta to nourish the fetus & a blood connection & all sorts of things.
I cant remembered how they handled that in Junior, but the problem is still
there.
Maybe leaving him as a girl would be a better idea...imagine onna-Ranma
suddenly acting more feminine and how destructive she might get when her
hormones kick in. <aaaah...run away from very pregnant, very mad onna-Ranma)
Is somebody goona write a 'Ranma-gets-pregnant' story? I can't
believe one hasn't been done yet. I thought about trying, but how would
it happen in the first place? I can only see a few scenarios:
1-Magic. He just gets spontaneously fertilised in female
form.
Hmmm...I recall hearing about this somewhere...something
about parthenogenesis & a potion from Shampoo...perhaps _Childhoods
End_ which is available thru WWs remailer.
2-Magic. Love potion or whatnot goes screwy, Ranma-chan goes and
gets herself pregnant (with Ryoga?)
Eh? <ears standing at attention wanting to hear more>
3-Decision. SOme future time when he's at ease with his
female-form, and some situation warrants it.
Hmmm...well, hes got plenty of time...as far as Im concerned, he
can stay 16 as long as he likes.
4-Violence. Which would make for a rather unpleasant story - one
I don't think I could write, in any case.
Uhh...I think I saw one like that...I dont know if Ranma-chan gets
pregnant since I put it down to be read at another time...its called
_Whose Life is It Anyway_ and credited to Andrew Stodden...I found it
in WWs remailer.
Any others?
As a result of a drunken binge <bonk on head> okay, out of character
Someone takes over Ranmas body & gets her knocked up? <Deliberately
or accidental--who knows?> (Saw this in Wild Cards XII: Double Solitaire...
interesting series about mutants who were the result of alien experimentation
on the Wild Card virus; either Aces (cool powers) or Jokers (deformities))
