Better yet, Akane is the old flame that Ranma grafts into Kuno's memories.

Kuno: "I treated her so badly."

Ranma: "No, you didn't."

Kuno: "How could I have called her an uncute tomboy?  I deserved it when
she dumped me."

I'm deeply sorry Kuny-Baby, when you said the creature needed to be
female, I thought you ment the creature that evolved from the pig
(i.e. Ryoga), not the pig itself (P-chan).
