Hmm... This sounds like an old arguement. I'm not so sure that
you can just say "it's black!" offhandly like that. If it's NOT
red, (and I don't claim to know which is the real case) then why,
pray tell, is onna Ranma's hair red on the covers of the tankoubons?
Why, pray tell, isn't onna-Ranma's hair a half-tone in the
actual pages of the manga?
simply a by-product of trying to imply a deep red in a black and
white setting. So there! ;}
