Hello, everyone.

Sorry if the header sounds corny, but it seemed appropriate.

Well, let's see...I got a fun job working as an engineering assistant
over the summer. It was cool...most of my days were spent banging away on
a keyboard. The job, among other things, ended up hampering my writing
over the summer, but most of the problems created were eventually
solved.

The "other things" was the home situation. I lived in, for all intents
and purposes, a cubicle - a walled-off section of the living room. Not
very much in the way of privacy. It got to me after awhile.

Well, A-Kon was fun, if a little crazy. As you probably have heard, a
violent storm hit the area the Saturday morning of the con, knocking down
power lines - including the ones that fed power to the hotel. Imagine
1500 sweating (no air conditioning, and the sun came out after the
storm), bored, somewhat perturbed otaku, wandering the halls of a hotel,
itching to do...something. Think about it...all you'd need is a little
alcohol and a good orator (read: NOT ME!) and you could start your own
revolution. The lights came on that evening, and the con rolled on.
The panel, delayed a day due to the blackout, was eventually held. It
went okay overall, though I was dissatisfied with my own performance.

The summer rolled on...I worked...I went home...I wrote a little...I
worked...I went home...

Ugh.

I took a couple of road trips over the summer, to places like Huntsville
(i.e. Jhon) and Houston (i.e. Planet Anime). Also, I did keep in touch
with a few people. It helped me stay sane (relatively speaking).

As for my writing...hehheh...I've written a few things...

Well, I'm back now. It's strange...most of my friends aren't here any
more. The one friend I have met here has transferred to UTD, and was
just down to be with his fiancee.

Oh well. Life goes on.

Hey, at least you won't have to put up with me as a roommate anymore. That
should be something of a comfort. I'll miss having someone to look at my
work BEFORE I let anyone else see it, though.
