In my series, "Thy Inward Love", I proffered a similar explanation -
that once cursed, you can't get uncursed until the magic is done with
you.  Takahashi supports this theory by having bizarre things happen to
Ranma whenever he gets close to a cure - obviously, it's magic!  It's
not ready to let him go.

	I like to think that Ranma just has a psychological barrier 
against curing himself.  It's not that its magic, it's just that, deep 
down inside, he doesn't _want_ to get cured.  Not for any kinky 
reasons... but as his life currently is, it helps to maintain the status 
quo.  Well, I've also got some funky Freudian and Jeungian theories on 
it, but I won't get into that... It's too silly...
