Ryoga smiled. “It worked!” he said to himself. “It’s time to go home.”
Ryoga announced. I need to fill you in on what happened while you two
were, uhmm, away.”

The three friends giggled nervously as they left the well.

The old priest smiled at them and entered his shrine.

============================================
Konatsu was busy cleaning the tables. He looked up to see Ukyo making a
breakfast okonomiyaki for a customer. Smiling, Konatsu went to the next
table and thought about how well things were working out between Ukyo and
himself. “When she smiles, the world is so much brighter. I hope our
friendship continues to grow like it has these past few months. She
treats me so much better now. The pay, the conversation, even when we go
out to see a movie.”

Konatsu froze. He had heard that sound before. “No,” escaped from under
his breath.

He looked over to Ukyo. She had a look of shock on her face. “No.”

“I dropped a spatula,” Ukyo thought. “I .. I nuh ... never do that.”
Ukyo bent down to pick up the spatula, but her hands shook too much. She
looked at her hands and started to cry. “HE DID IT! HE DID IT!” She
yelled at the top of her lungs. She immediately looked for Konatsu and
saw him sitting at one of the tables. He was sitting there with his face
in his hands, shaking his head and sobbing quietly.

Kasumi opened the door and smiled as she greeted Ryoga. “Konnichiwa!”
she said.

“Konnichiwa, Kasumi-san.” Ryoga replied. “Are your father and sister
home?”

“Father is over here at the table,” Kasumi said as she motioned for Ryoga
to enter, “and Nabiki is in her room.”

Ryoga looked at her with a little apprehension, “Could you ask her to
come out? I have something to tell all of you.”

Ryoga turned to Tendo Soun and greeted him as Kasumi headed upstairs to
Nabiki’s room.

“How is Happosai?” Ryoga asked as he kneeled at the table, sitting
across from Soun.

“Ryoga-kun,” Soun began, “after you left, the master did not do well. He
seemed very concerned about you and said that he hoped you would succeed.
He suffered a heart attack the evening you left.”

Ryoga stared at Soun in disbelief. Is this the same Tendo Soun?
Normally he would be crying non stop or lying in bed, unable to do
anything. And yet, here he is, calmly talking about the death of
Happosai!

“Happosai was a great martial artist and in great shape, for his age.
Does Tofu-sensei have any ideas as to what would have caused this?”
Ryoga asked.

“He said that it was a combination of many things.” Soun replied.
“Exhaustion, too much physical exertion and his mental state. Kasumi
said that it looked like his heart had broken.”

Ryoga looked at Soun and took a deep breath before he began to speak.
“As you remember, Happosai called me to his bed side the day I left. He
told me of a well that answered the wishes of those who tossed a coin
into the well.” Soun raised his eyebrows. “He had found the well, but
could not reach it. Only someone noble or with a noble purpose could
approach the well. So, Happosai could not get anywhere near it. He told
me his story, gave me a map asked me to complete his quest. I accepted
and left.”

Before Soun could respond, Nabiki came down the stairs. She was slightly
upset. “Why should I come out and talk to Ryoga? He disappeared when
Ojiisan died and he shows up now?”

Ryoga stood. “Let me explain. Happosai sent me on a quest to find a
magical well that he was unable to reach. I found the well and completed
his quest.”

The Tendo’s looked at each other and then Ryoga. They all had confused
looks on their faces.

“The well answers wishes.” Ryoga walked toward the door. “It answered
my wish.” Ryoga opened the door. There stood Akane.

Akane hesitantly walked into the room. Soun, Kasumi and Nabiki stared at
Akane, their mouths open and a stunned look on each of their faces. “I
wished that Akane and Ranma were alive.” Ryoga said.

“Daddy? Kasumi? Nabiki?” Akane said quietly.

“My little daughter!!!!” Soun bellowed.

“Akane!!!!” Cried Kasumi and Nabiki.

The three rushed to Akane and grabbed her in a giant hug. All four
started crying.

Ranma slowly walked through the open door and looked at Ryoga. Ryoga’s
smile seemed to reach from ear to ear. “They all seem so happy.” Ranma
thought. “What will their reactions be when they see me?”

Nabiki was the first to notice him. “Ranma.” She said quietly. Soun
and Kasumi looked up and stared at Ranma. Nabiki stepped out of the
group hug.

Ryoga noticed and spoke up. “My wish was for Akane AND Ranma to be
alive.”

Soun and Kasumi turned their attention to Nabiki. Looks of pain and
apprehension replaced their smiles. A concerned Akane looked on.

“YOU PIECE OF SHIT! GET THE HELL OUT OF OUR HOUSE!” Screamed Nabiki,
her fists clenched and her knuckles white.

“Na ... Nabiki?” Akane softly questioned.

“Why are YOU alive? After what you did to Kuno-chan, you should be sent
back to HELL!” Venom dripped from her every word as she continued
speaking. “You self-centered, arrogant, evil son of a bitch! You
destroyed Kuno-chan’s mind and then his life! Just get the FUCK out of
here, I don’t want to see you EVER again!”

Soun looked at Nabiki and then Ranma. “Ranma-kun, I think you should
leave.”

“Hai.” Ranma replied as he bowed. Ryoga followed him out the door and
closed it behind him.

Nabiki collapsed to the floor sobbing and shaking as her family went to
her aid.

“She reacted like you said she would.” Ranma said as he walked with
Ryoga.

“Just like her sister,” Ryoga replied, “she wouldn’t admit her true
feelings until it was too late. She visits Kuno every day but he doesn’t
recognize or acknowledge her.”

“Akane took it pretty well.” Ranma said as he looked at the ground.
“She didn’t want to believe that her sister had changed that much. I
didn’t either.”

“Her father continues to surprise me with how much he has changed, and
continues to change.” Ryoga said.

Ranma looked at Ryoga. “He seemed the same to me, crying and
everything.”

“That was the first time he has cried since you ... died.” Ryoga said.
“He has become more and more emotionless and stern. He would talk about
having to train someone to take over the dojo and what needed to be done
to prepare for that.”

“Even Kasumi-san has changed. I think it’s because she saw what happened
with her sisters and their, uhm, love lives. She’s started seeing
Tofu-sensei on a regular basis. Of course, Tofu-sensei is more dangerous
now.” Ryoga smiled.

Ranma looked up. “I better get you back to Akari.”
