If Ranko was close to losing, then it was your job as author to convey
the sense of close-run tight fought battle - whereas what you did write
was about an angry and outclassed Ryouga going down to inevitable
defeat. Ranko acknowledged that Ryouga was powerful, but *SHE* never
seemed to to have doubts about the outcome or to be in the slightest
difficulty.
As for introducing new characters... you can if you want, but it is never
necessary, it is always the authors choice.
P.S.
Authors note: Ranko like Ranma tend to bost a bout stuff.
Actually Ranko comes across as quite modest in the stories, wiping the
floor with Ryouga and then acting like it was no big deal. It was
more that your replies to comments involved you boasting about how powerful
she was.

Sheesh! I'm on chapter 2 and you talking about stuff i haven't even
throught of yet. Her marital Arts is some what obvious if you think about
it, but that is why she has covered her weakness. Ranko also
underestimated Ryouga and that is why I said she was close to losing. As
for the modestly that is because she is new in town as time pasts the
mask slowly comes off.Ranko could have beaten Ryouga if she fought
wisely, but she had underestimated his endurence. What you see is not
always what you get.
You may not like what I have planned, but I'm sticking to it anyway. If
you must then think of her as the all powerful player right now, for I
don't think she will be fighting again soon.
