Well, since my Magical Girl Fanfic Theater C&C series looks to be one that'll
be continuing for at least a while, I might as well give you guys some proper
intros for the three girls in them so far. If anyone's interested in .JPGs of
the girls as well, let me know so I can send them off to you (if not post to

Miyakawa Mika - Exquisite Soldier Lovely Freesia

girl

Personality and History:
Mika is a friendly, yet practical student at Mizuhara High
School in HyperTokyo, Japan. She enjoys a fair amount of popu-
larity and is known for above-average grades. She probably would
have had the normal life of a high school girl in 2095 Japan.
However, that was not to be. One day, she ran across what
appeared to be a lost robopet in the shape of a penguin. When
she did a quick ID check using her unicom*, it was registered to
her, which was quite odd. She had never owned a robopet in her
entire life, prefering flesh-and-blood pets instead.
Nevertheless, she took the robopet, named Penko, with her.
Later that day, however, she found herself at the scene of a
youma attack in progress. More than a little stunned, Mika
couldn't believe what was happening. After all, youma were the
things of cheesy magical girl holovid shows, right?
It was then that Penko started to act and speak independant-
ly, revealing herself to be a liason for the Magical Girl Corps.
The MGC was a secret government organization dedicated to pro-
tecting the innocent, defending justice, and cleaning up after
those damn fools in the military whenever they goofed something
up.
Not only did Penko work for the MGC, but she informed Mika
that she was drafted into the MGC as of that moment. Penko
instructed Mika to take the silver choker that mysteriously
appeared out of thin air and to recite the magic phrase that
would activate her magical girl form. Mika did so and became
"Exquisite Soldier...Bismark?!"
Penko quickly explained that the MGC was running out of
naming schemes, under threat of becoming scrap metal at Mika's
hands. Penko was able to put in a name change request and Mika
was renamed "Exquisite Solder Lovely Freesia", much to Mika's
relief.
After finding herself stuck in making a long, cliched
speech, Mika was finally ready for battle. However, she found
several things distressing as she tried to fight. For one thing,
her measurements and height had increased from those of a teenag-
er to those of a young woman, and a bosomy one at that! Not only
that, but the costume she was in was very revealing, much to her
constant dismay. Her magical attacks weren't much better. For
one thing, the Flower Petal Blitz she had did little more than
create a cloud of freesia petals, which obscured vision at best.
Finally ticked off at the less-than-adequate aspects of her
new job, she was able to engage her Magic Soul Blade, her ulti-
mate weapon. Unfortunately, her anger provided the energy that
made up the blade and it wound up being 5 meters (15 feet) in
length. The extreme length of the blade, combined with her not
being used to her new body, caused her to fall flat on her face.
Luckily, she did so in a way that took out the attacking youma.
In the days following, Mika has learned to live with her new
position as a mysterious-yet-sexy defender of the world. Even
having to deal with low-grade attacks and perks due to government
cutbacks, a couple of teammates that left much to be desired, and
hordes of drooling fanboys. That doesn't mean that she won't
complain. In fact, she'll complain a lot due to such drawbacks
in her job. However, she learns to live up to the duty of a
member of the Magical Girl Corps.
* - UNIfied COMmunications device. A handheld hybrid of a PDA,
audio/video/computer remote control, and holovid phone. Resem-
bles an 8" (20.3cm) 20th century remote control.
Special Abilities:
First off, her transformation sequence, while embarrasing
for her, leaves her in a more mature form to help confuse others
as to her identity. She, as well as all magical girls, also
radiates a field that clouds the ability of others to identify
Lovely Freesia as Miyakawa Mika.
Lovely Freesia can slow down her enemies by way of a long,
drawn-out speech. She has no choice but to make such a speech
whenever she enters battle, since she's the team leader. Lucki-
ly, she is protected by a magical protection field that prevents
youma from interrupting her as logic would dicate tactically.
Her Flower Petal Blitz is best used as a defensive measure,
since it only consists of a rapidly growing cloud of freesia
petals. Effective at obscuring vision, but not much else.
Her main weapon is her Magic Soul Blade, an energy blade
powered by the force of her emotions. However, she tends to have
trouble controlling it and it sometimes winds up being nearly
three times her own height. However, once she gets it under
control, it is a very potent weapon that can cut through nearly
anything save another soul blade.

Toriyama Akiko - Exquisite Soldier Crimson Rose
Physical Description:
- 21 years old
- Straight, shoulder-length black hair
- Brown eyes
- 5'8" (172.7)
- Measurements: 36-33-35" (91-84-89cm)
- Manner of dress:
- Everyday clothes: Stylish clothing for most
occasions, priestess outfit while working around
her grandmother's temple
- Magical Girl uniform: Red strapless one-piece swim-
suit with a plunging neckline and high-cut at the
legs, a loose, white miniskirt; green plexiglas
eyemask with heads-up holographic displays linked
to MGC mainframes; red high-heel, knee-length
boots and elbow-length gloves; silver choker with
a red crystal set in it
Personality and History:
Toriyama Akiko is the type of girl that tends to keep busy
while having a smile on her face. Not only is she a student at
HyperTokyo university, but she volunteers her time in a tutor
program at one of the local high schools. She also spends a lot
of time helping out her maternal grandmother with taking care of
a temple.
Akiko's life became a lot more complicated once she started
looking into why one of her students, Miyakawa Mika, started
acting distant and mysterious. Akiko had a better idea of what
might've been going on because a) the strange behavior started
just after the appearances of a new magical girl named Lovely
Freesia, and b) Akiko's grandmother was actually a former magical
girl and passed down her stories to Akiko when she was a child.
After a few days of quiet investigation, Akiko's perserver-
ance paid off when Mika headed over to where a youma attack was
taking place. Remaining hidden, Akiko witnessed Mika's transfor-
mation, confirming her suspicions. However, the fight was going
badly for the inexperienced Mika, and Akiko had to do something.
Spying a length of chain amongst the rubble, Akiko grabbed
it and lashed the youma upside the head with it. Taking advan-
tage of the distraction it caused, Akiko grabbed Mika's hand and
dragged her off for some cover. Penko, being present, followed
and informed Akiko that she, too, was drafted into the Magical
Girl Corps like Mika was.
Following Penko's instructions, Akiko engaged her transfor-
mation sequence and became Exquisite Soldier Yamato. After a
brief discussion between the two girls and the robopet, punctuat-
ed by threats of bludgeoning by way of broken lead pipe, she was
renamed Exquisite Soldier Crimson Rose.
While her attacks were not on a par with Mika's powerful
(yet uncontrollable) soul blade, she had some very useful abili-
ties that were effective against the youma. Unfortunately, her
ultimate attack, the Fire Blossom, was indiscriminate and result-
ed in the two girls beating a hasty retreat while the youma went
up in flames along with the buildings around it.
Ever since that day, Akiko has been a helpful teammate to
Mika. Not only was she quite capable in combat, but she had some
knowledge of what being a magical girl was all about due to her
grandmother's stories. She also managed to get her grandmother
to let them use the temple as a base of operations. Akiko also
acts as a calming influence and counsellor to the ever-frustrated
Mika.
Special Abilities:
Crimson Rose has some of the more effective abilites for
combat. Along with certain perks as a Magical Girl, like the
ID-protection field, she has the Thorny Vine Whiplash. The
whiplash is an entangling attack that takes the form of a giant
vine with thorns (obviously), that can also do great damage to
her enemies.
Crimson Rose is also capable of generating the Fire Blossom,
an area-effect attack in the form of a cloud of flame. Like all
area-effect attacks, the fire blossom cannot differentiate
between friend and foe. Crimson Rose has to be careful of when,
where, and how to use this attack to avoid hurting her friends
and causing additional property damage.

Mura Natsumi - Exquisite Soldier Golden Poppy
Physical Description:
- 16 years old
- Straight, neck-length blond hair worn with a blue hairband
with renders it into bangs. It is also slightly longer
on the right side than it is on the left.

- 5'6" (167.6cm)
- Measurements: 35-33-35" (89-84-89cm) normal/
36-33-36" (91-84-91cm) magical girl
- Manner of dress:
- School uniform: Grey sailor-fuku-style long dress

- Magical Girl uniform: Orange one-piece swimsuit with
a halter-style neckline and a loose, white skirt;
green plexiglas eyemask with heads-up holographic
displays linked to MGC mainframes; orange high-
heel, knee-length boots and elbow-length gloves;
silver choker with a orange crystal set in it
Personality and History:
Mura Natsumi is the most popular girl in Miyakawa Mika's
class at Mizuhara high school. She loves to flirt with the boys
and is quite good-looking to boot. However, she also lives up to
the stereotype of the dumb blond to the hilt. While many wonder
how she managed to get as far as she did in the school system,
she also gets many offers from the boys to study with them.
One day, after getting out of the detention handed to her by
her literature teacher, Kuno Sayoko, an explosion took out the
shop next to her favorite ramen stand. Not thinking clearly
enough to run away, Natsumi decided to check out the fireworks
instead. What she found was her two newest heroes, Exquisite
Soldiers Lovely Freesia and Crimson Rose, fighting off a youma
attack.
Seeing that youma tend to be scarier in real life than they
appear to be on holovid, Natsumi started to back up, only to bump
into a carbonized pillar. While something like that would be
worrisome, what happened was that the pillar cracked, causing the
rafter sitting on top of it to collapse right onto the youma,
pinning it temporarily.
Observing that Natsumi's apparant dumb luck could be an
asset to the team, a hidden Penko waddled over and drafted
Natsumi on the spot. Unlike Mika's or Akiko's earlier induc-
tions, Natsumi's came off without a hitch, turning her into
Exquisite Soldier Golden Poppy.
Upon seeing Natsumi's uniform, Mika was burning with envy.
Unlike Mika's uniform, which left little to the imagination,
Natsumi's had a much more modest cut to it with a halter-styled
suit and a longer skirt. Penko pointed out that Mika was the
team leader and thus bore the responsibility of wearing the more
attention-getting suit, while Natsumi was just a regular team
member and could get away with showing less, like Akiko.
As the youma was coming to, Natsumi decided to try out her
new powers, starting with her Poppy Seed Cloud. While appearing
to be less effective than even Mika's Flower Petal Cloud, Natsu-
mi's attack proved to be much more useful. It became evident
that the seeds and essence used in the attack came from a differ-
ent kind of poppy than the golden one. The end result was that
the youma ended up quite stoned and unable to defend itself
properly.
Natsumi managed to finish off the youma with her other
attack, the Poppy Seed Shower. While the name made the attack
sound harmless, it was anything but. It wasn't seeds that
showered onto the youma, but the pods those seeds came in at
hypersonic speeds. The youma was soon pulp, then ashes as its
body burned away like all youma do upon death.
Natsumi was firmly established as part of Mika's team, but
not without protest. Mika, having been in the same class as
Natsumi for the previous two years, knew how slow Natsumi could
be in the mental department and did not like it one bit. Often,
Mika would wind up chastising the blond over one mishap or
another. It is only Akiko's intervention from time to time that
prevents Mika from causing bodily harm to Natsumi.
Even with Mika's fits of frustration, Natsumi enjoys being
on the team. She may not entirely grasp the situation most of
the time, she does prove to be a big help with her abilities and
her luck (without which, Natsumi might not have gotten as far in
life as she has...).
Special Abilities:
Natsumi is naturally endowed with phenominal luck. This is
basically how she got up to high school with her lack of mental
abilities. Her luck can easily tip the scales to the Exquisite
Soldiers' favor during battle.
She is also capable of generating a cloud of poppy seeds.
However, the seeds seem to be from either the opium poppy or a
similar species rather than her namesake, the golden poppy. The
end result is that her target becomes intoxicated and unable to
mount any effective defenses or offensive moves.
Her ultimate attack is a hail of poppy seed-pods brought
down upon her enemies at hypersonic speeds. This results in the
targets being pummled to a pulp, quite naturally.
