Well actually, I was thinking more along the lines that Happousai
just screwed up the spell, and accidentally pulled me through :)

As for the Japanese part, the character had a few years of Japanese, 
but was nowhere near fluent.  Somehow, when he arrived in Japan,
he noticed that he could speak Japanese fluently though :)
I sorta copped out on coming up with a good reason why he would be
fluent, so I had a minor deus ex machina solution.
