Leon sat in the care as he had beeen doing for the last fifteen minutes
or so, wondering what to do given that he had some idea of what Bert
would do. He had to confront bert, tell him to let someone else handle
it, and not to get involved, without letting him know that Leon knew who
he really was. His head leaned back againsts the seat rest for a moment
as he thought of the situation, and the fact that neither of them had
broached the subject of SkyKnight and had been extremely careful not to
let that occur.
*Bert if there ever was a time that SkyKnight was needed, I would say
its now. Unfortunately, we cant have that happen as people would
figure out that you were the lone male Knight Saber...Nah..., that
wouldnt work. I have to figure out something else instead of an open
confrontation, something that would be better,* Leon thought as he
looked out of the window at the club. It was then that he noticed who
had parked her motorcycle and that she was walking up to the front
door. He quickly got out as she ran her security card into the side
slot and entered her code.
Unfortunately for him, he did not catch up to her before she entered
the building.
Unfortunately for Priss, she hadnt stayed to make sure the door
locked...

If anything, Priss was extremely angry at Bert, especially since he had
it in his head that <HE> would be the one to rescue Nene, and that he
would do it alone. As she had a vested interested in making sure he
didnt get his butt shot off, as well as an interest in keeping one of
her few friends alive. It was unfortunate, but Hollister had gotten too
close to the truth before, and it had almost cost Bert his life.
Damn it you idiotic asshole!!! she exclaimed unnecessarily at Bert as
she came into his office. I know that youre going to try and find
Nene alone. What is it that Sylia keeps saying about operating solo
The red headed young man seated behind his desk and looking at a folder
in front of him was stone faced as he slowly raised his head, Im sure
you know as well as I do. Besides, this has nothing to do with Saber
operations. Its personal, and its going to be letal, especially for
one particular blond-haired individual if I happen to see him.
Bert reached under his desk and activated a Plasma wall screen that had
seemed like some sort of fancy whiteboard. The thing is, he doesnt
really want Nene, he wants me. The police also have no idea where the
real rondezvous is, Hollister took them into consideration when he left
those clues. The thing is, he made some very subtle references to Star
Wars, and in particular, to Jedi. He knows about me, and my abilities,
although Im sure that he doesnt know about all of them.
Using a pen, he clicked to a map of Mega-Tokyo and then focussed into
the Canyons. One of his comments was that he knew about me flying the
trenches back home. Only thing is he cant know where Im really from,
so that means hes guessing, using the films as a basis, and hoping to
lure me into this section of the canyons. he pointed at an area about
three miles away from Ravens garage. Its too damn close to one of
our bases, and I dont want to risk him finding out where it is,
especially since hes also expecting SkyKnight to show up.
Priss turned to him. Wait a sec. What do you mean hes expecting
SkyKnight?
Bert opened his left hand which had been tightly clenched all this
time, and in the palm of his hand was the ring he had given Nene.
Hollister had this delivered with a message. He wants SkyKnight and
his armour there as well as me. Hes willing to exchange Nene for the
technology contained within the suit, and hes warned me not to strip
out any technology from the Imperial and New Republic years. The
problem is, how do I get a Skyknight to show up?
Before Priss could reply to that one, a voice said from the door, Why
not let them have me? Im sure that I could use your armour if you give
me a chance. We have a slightly different build, but not that much to
make a huge amount of difference.
Both of them spun at that, and bert was the one who identified the
person standing in the doorway. Leon?!?
