Kamusta! :)

Here's part 8 of my sis' fanfic!

Eight.

Hiei had killed a scorpion He was not certain how. He was slashing
blindly at a shadow he felt to loom over his shoulder, when suddenly he
struck something strong and yielding. There was a scream, quite like a
human scream, and presently there was also blood. The rest of the scorpion
was easy to find, for the flow of blood was unabated, and Hiei discovered
that scorpions became more and more visible as they died. Nevertheless, he
had two more doses of the same bitter medicine, and his killing their
comrade did not assure a smooth rapport with them at all.
Despite this, Hiei had already assessed their motions. They may be able to
see him, but he had already asserted that he had sharper senses and a
swifter, deadlier stinger. It was almost as if he could see them. The
killing would be good.
But, all at once, and all of a sudden, he froze.

Kurama managed to disengage himself from the pile of snarling, biting
creatures that pushed him to the ground. It was easy, really: pretend you
were a snake and you could disengage yourself from anything. He was only
lightly scratched in all places. No wound they had given him would not heal
within a minute.
He was creeping out of the glade when he was apprehended by a gnarled tree
root that betrayed his dominion. The root, quick as lightning, snatched him
up and threw him against the bole. Then vines wrapped round him tight,
restraining his breathing.
When Kurama was able to open his eyes, he saw beneath him, down upon the
ground, a common-looking goblin. It was common in that the ray of
intelligence he had hoped to find in the most cunning of the pack, the one
with the sense enough to try and kill him with a razor-blade rain, was
absent. It would have deceived him at any instant, as it had deceived him then.
The sitting goblin looked up at him happily, and tittered.
"Asshole," Kurama said calmly. The little demon laughed, as if he had just
been told a joke. As it laughed the vines tightened around Kurama,
suffocating him, crushing his every bone.
Not even a snake could stop itself from blacking out at the proper moment --

Kurama!
Hiei looked blankly at the empty space ahead, where two giant scorpions were
approaching him. As in the beginning, he did not see either of them at all,
though they flickered angrily, in and out of normal sight before him.
There was something very wrong with the companion far away, far ahead, at
the other route. Hiei felt it even without the jagan to aid him. Like a
burst of power it desperately reached out. It tugged at the strings he did
not know existed on his heart.
And suddenly there was no time to worry about himself. Hiei leapt up, and
leapt eastward, from branch to branch, like a bird at close escape, and
trees collapsed behind him.
