What most people seemed to think wasn't so good was the very ending.
Heck, let's be honest; everyone thought it sucked. So, okay, I liked it
so much I named the story after it. Doesn't mean I ain't open to
renaming the fic.
wait... Kasumi continuing her harmless appearance while Ranma bites the
dust is a BAD ending? There's such a thing as tragedy in storytelling.
Just because the hero doesn't win in the end... well... what I'm saying is
that I liked the ending, anyways.
I think you misunderstood him. He didn't want to change the ending
itself (i.e. kasumi turning out to be the killer and finishing off Ranma)
but he wasn't completely satisfied with the *wording* of the final
sentences that gave the fic it's name ("Appearances can be deceiving").
