I feel the need to mention this here. Don't believe *everything* you hear
in e-mail. Ever hear of the "Good Times" virus? It's a load of bs that
says that you can spread a virus through e-mail. That is a load of
kahooey.

Anou.... You CAN spread a virus through E-mail. That is what all the
brou-ha-ha is about the macro viruses that affect Word, Excel, Word Perfect
and the like. Worse, the damn things are platform independent, because
they operate on the applications macro language - and if it has file
manipulation capabilities, can be bad.

Is one reason Zen will never upgrade past word 5.1 on his mac. (Mind you,
another reason has something to do with the fact that 5.1 tkes about 6 megs
on the hard drive, while version 6 takes 24 megs... HD space may be cheap,
but *really*!)

That said, Fanfics ARE technically illegal. (Zen's parents were both
attorneys) However, Zen has YET to hear of anyone getting too uptight about
them. After all, what studio/publisher/author et al is gonna turn down
that much free promotion and consumer enthusiam? GO for it. As long as
you don't make a profit off of fanfics, they would have a hard time trying
to prosecute anyway.

(Tho, that IS why online services like AOL have disallowed fanfics in their
special interest groups' libraries - since they charge their members a
subscription fee based on time used, they could be making a profit, and
THAT could cause them grief.)
