it at the theater as a kid.  But a hard-core-fantasy, adult-animation
movie?  Not likely.  'The Black Cauldron' was book two of an excellent
kid's fantasy series (who's name I can't remember, now, dammit!).  Very
good... but not quite adult.

The series was the "Chronicles of Prydain" by Lloyd Alexander-
Series contained Five Books

1) The Book of Three
2) The Black Cauldron
3) The Castle of Llyr
4) Taran Wanderer
5) The High King

First publication between 1964 for book one and 1968 for book five.
