The original ending sucked?!  The original ending was what made
the Little Mermaid one of my favourite classic fairy tales.  The point of
the whole story was that the mermaid fell in love with a human dolt who
didn't love her back.  Remember the classic line "every step she took
was like walking on knives"?  Didn't matter that it didn't have the
happily ever after ending, the point was the mermaid's love was true.

 Also, The female eyes have gotten LARGER, giving 

them an anime appeal.  With " The Hunchback of Notre Dame", Disney take 
another leap in our direction.

Actually I not sure if Large eyes are necessary for anime appeal.  Look
at Miyazaki's work.  

Even though, the movie is "kid modified" (e.g. No blood shown), the movie 
still has a remarkable amount of material for older vewiers.  There is 
adult material place in the movie in such a way that it will go right 
over childrens heards.  Here is a list of 
not-usually-seen-in-Disney-materials from the movie:

Multiple men getting kicked in the nuts.

This is adult?  I'd prefer realistic depictions of pain and result of violence.
ie. people limping, bandaged-up etc...

Woman getting her face bashed to death in cold blood.

Actually Disney changed the Frollo character from a priest to judge.
They didn't want the controversy of depicting a man of the cloth in lust!

Hmm, that really depends, I thought it was a clumsy attempt by Disney at
depicting Frollo's obsession with Esmeralda.  They didn't have to make
it into yet another big number, and many kids were bored/puzzles by it.
As for the adults, we get it okay, just stop hammering in down on us.

LUST as a major plot point

I think they shied away from this.  I mean Quasi settled for a platonic
friendship with Esme. 

The guy does NOT get the girl (some other guy does)

Well, that according to Disney, the photogenic guy always get the
photogenic gal.  It would actually be different if Quasi got the gal.
So what was the message?  Oh yeah, she really loves the other
guy for his *personality* and Quasi is *accepted* for his looks.
Too bad Quasi didn't get the Beast transformation, then he would've
gotten the gal.

Granted, they do force a happy ending.  But then again, the ending to the 
original was very very very depressing.

What's wrong with that?  Disney warps and twists classic stories just
so they can have the happy endings everytime.  I don't mind stories
that originaly had happy endings, just leave the others alone (if you
can't respect the author's original concept, go away)

The film also feature computor assisted crowd and "zooming".  Not to 
mention special fire effects that gave me goosebumps!  It also sports a 
musical score that would make Andrew Loyld Wbber jealous!

Well anything is better than Elton John and that ridiculous "feel the love
tonight" song.  Actually Disney can tone down some broadway style
numbers, it's getting to be really repetitve and not quite appropriate to
certain stories.

Even tough I can't be cartain, I'm open to the possibillity  that Disney 
may not be our enemy, but a friend who is trapped by big-movie-bussiness 
and is not completely free.  Major motion picture do NOT like to risks 
more bombs.

Our friend?!  Well I like Fantasia, 101 Dalmations and Beauty & Beast.
But I also like healthy competition and different studios.  I just worry about
Disney's mega-niche on the North America's animation industry.  I just
heard that Disney acquired the rights to distribute 8 Miyazaki films.  That's
okay as long as they don't make cuts and try to censor (I mean make it
kid-safe) them.

This is Ironic coming from me because untill I saw "Hunchback", I was an 
"Anti-Disney" otaku.  I went in not paying my own way and with a closed 
mind and left applauding.

Hmm, that's interesting about all anime otakus hating Disney.  My friends
and I enjoy both and understand the reasons Disney has for being what it
is.  Also you seem to lump all anime together.  There are different authors, and
different genres in anime too you know!  Totoro is for a different audience then
say Ghost in Shell.  People dislike Disney because the same reason they
dislike Microsoft, it's getting too big for its britches and there is really
very
little alternative.  Sure there's Don Bluth and Tim Burton, but compared to
the marketing power and pure show biz clout, there's really no competition.
