Akane is a *GIRLS* name, a reasonably common one.  A male from birth 
version of Akane would have a different name.

If "Doing Things that Mess Up Your Children's Future" were a crime, both
Genma and Soun would be serving *very* long jail terms.  Way I see it,
it's just another screwy thing in the Ranmaverse...
