<< Since I'm on this tangent, what exactly is it that Soun does? Sure he
owns
the Dojo, but have you ever actually seen a student there. Where is all his
free time spent? What is it he does? Ditto for Genma. Nabiki too. Heck
the whole Tendo Dojo could be a cover for the families Yakuza activities. >>

It's a well known fact that Soun & Genma play Go whenever possible. For all
we know they could be trying to settle a long-time duel from a world-class
championship in which both men came to a stalemate.. (Not knowing much about
Go, can there be a stalemate?)

The last (In fact the only) time I ever saw Soun training in the Dojo, was
with Akane right before she whacked him while she was thinkning about Ranma .

my 2 cents, anyway.. ;)

Isn't Soun' job suppose to be that of the Auxilliary Police Chief of the
Nerima district . And Genma's job to be helping Dr. Tofu at his clinic
(albeit in his panda form). Nabiki's job seem's to be primary financial
care-taker of the Tendo Dojo (usually done through her sales of certain
pictures to certain people, bribery and general black mailling network).
Kasumi's job is obvious. That of a house keeper, what with two (count them.
2) free-loaders, One boy-hating tom-boy younger sister who breaks way to
much around the house, one slightly older "I couldn't care less about it if
it doesn't involve personal family matters or can't make me money." sister
and an eternally distressed father. Not to mention all the other strange
people and things that seem to pop-up around the house at the drop of a pin
(or a hammer in many cases). That's automatically two or three full time
jobs there. Hope this helps to make things more clear for you. Ja-nei. ^_^
