And how would this preserve the relationships?  We all know
Sheridan & Delenn are fated together.  Anyhow you have to
change the characters a bit, and you can still have Akane
and Ranma relationship.  This time they are still bickering but
are forced to work together for a common goal.

Won't work because the bickering is *not* the basis of Delenn's and 

Sheridan's

relationship.

I think I've figured out the problem.  The Akane Delenn people are
trying to shoehorn B5 into Ranma, while the Ukyou Delenn people are
trying to shoehorn Ranma into B5.

I'm one of the latter.
