        Too true... I'm 34, and I still love it. I first saw it years ago,
when it was aired by the Armed Forces Television Network in Germany, for
the service personel stationed there. Along with G-Force, Speed Racer, and
a HUGE load of other anime. Due to certain legal restrants, AFN was barred
from airing certain American cartoons until _after_ German TV stations had
their chance to air (or refuse to air) it first. So, a great deal of anime
ended up on the Saturday and Sunday morning scheduals of AFN, much to my
personal enjoyment!

Heh.  I was born in Germany (hence the tag).  My father was in the US
armed forces there and stayed around after to get a job.  We moved back
to the US when I was four.

        Very adult, IMHO. And quite subtly don, if you ask me. So subtly,
it slips right past the majority of so-called 'educated adults' in
America!

The scene which I will always cherish is Rick's soul-searching in a
field of wildflowers--two years after the near-annialation of earth.  It
is so poignant, so increadably well written, that it gives me chills to
hear it...

He stands there, thinking of his past, his future, those dead that he
survived beyond, in a field of wildflowers growing around a crashed
veritech--to the backdrop of wasteland of earth's own making....

I have *never* seen *anything* that has duplicated that.

I dunno.  I love it.  And I probably always will...
