[Story begins...]
[Tendou Dojo, Afternoon]
[Ranma and Akane walk into the house. Thay have obviously just come home
from school.]
Ranma: I don't get why all those guys chase you. It's not like you're cute
or anything!
Akane: Shut up, Ranma! You wouldn't know what cute was!
Ranma: True. I don't see it around here.
Akane: Ranma, I hate you!
Ranma: Good! That means it mutual!
Akane: DIE!
[Akane wipes the floor with Ranma and then throws him into a tree. She then
storms off in a huff. Up in the tree, Ranma is regaining his senses.]
Ranma: She should challenge Tyson! She'd kick his ass!
[Ranma gets down from the tree.]
Ranma: (rubbing a bruise) I have gotta learn to clam up. These beatings hurt!
[Ranma wanders back into the house and finds Kasumi in the kitchen.]
Ranma: Kasumi, could I have some ice?
Kasumi: Certainly. Why do you... (sees his face) Oh. I see...
Ranma: (sourly) Akane strikes again...
Kasumi: She is a little spirited...
Ranma: Spirited?! She's homocidal!
Kasumi: No wonder... The way you tease her.
Ranma: I don't mean anything by that. I'm just joking!
Kasumi: I think you had better go appolagise before you get any more
injuries.
Ranma: But... (sighs) Okay... I'm going...
[Ranma gets up and goes to Akane's room. He knocks on the door and waits. A
moment later Akane opens the door. She sees it's him and tries to close it.]
Ranma: Waitasec! Let me speak!
Akane: Why should I?! You're a nothing but a haemaphraditic pervert!
Ranma: That's not my fault!
Akane: You're a fool as well!
Ranma: Alright! Cut it out! I want say sorry!
Akane: I don't care! You're nothing but a- (pause) What did you say?
Ranma: I said I wanted to say I was sorry... But I'm having second
thoughts...
Akane: Are you serious?
Ranma: (shrugs) Sure. Why not?
Akane: Because it's not like you.
Ranma: Who says it isn't?
Akane: I do.
Ranma: So you're wrong...
Akane: (shakes her head) I don't think so...
Ranma: Look... I'm sorry. You can take it or leave it.
[Ranma starts to walk away, annoyed.]
Ranma: (thought) Geez! I try to be nice and she insults and interrogates me!
Akane: Wait, Ranma. I..I'm sorry.
Ranma: (turns) Do you really think I'm a pervert?
Akane: (sarcasticly) No. How could I think that? You just turn into a girl...
Ranma: Believe me... I'd do just about anything to be rid of the curse.
Akane: I know... It's just that I know it burns you up...
Ranma: Yeah... Great.
[Ranma walks off, leaving Akane to feel justifiably guilty.]
[Gosunkugi's House, At The Same Time]
[Gosunkugi is opening a big package. He tears off the paper to reveal an
enormous book.]
Gosunkugi: At last! Funk & Wagnall's Complete Guide to Sorcery!
[Gosunkugi stares rapturously at the massive tome. It is old and dirty and
covered in dust.]
Gos: At last, the power to gain the love of Akane is mine! Now all I need to
do is study it! Geez... It's pretty big! Still... after all the trouble
I had getting it from that occult publisher in Hong Kong, it's worth it!
Hello... What's this? A note from Ling-Ling... (reading) Don't mess with
this book, there's something funny about it...
Gos: Hah! I paid WAY too much money NOT to mess with it!
[Gosunkugi sits back and begins to read.]
[Tendou Dojo, Later]
[Ranma is out in the dojo practicing when Akane walks in.]
Akane: Hi.
Ranma: What's up?
Akane: Nothing. Feel like a spar?
Ranma: I suppose I could do with a little dodging practice...
Akane: Hmph! You can hit me, you know! I can take it! I'm martial artist, too!
Ranma: Yeah, but you're not much of a martial artist and you're a girl, too!
(pulls face) Nyyaaaahh!
Akane: (pulls back a fist) Dodge this!
[Akane swings while Ranma has his tongue out and his eyes screwed shut. She
hits him sqaurely in the face and sends him sprawling arcoss the floor. He
lies still for a moment and then sqwarks and sits up.]
Ranma: Oof! That was a bit harsh!
Akane: (smiles) I guess your dodging needs work.
[Ranma gets up and goes over to face her.]
Ranma: We'll see... Try and hit me now.
[Akane obliges, doing her best to decaptitate him. He ducks, dodges, blocks
and generally avoids everything she can throw at him. Finally she is left
standing there, gasping and exhausted.]
Ranma: (taps her on the head) I guess I don't need practice after all!
Akane: (panting) Ranma...
Ranma: Yeah?
Akane: Are you ever going to get rid of the curse?
Ranma: (shrugs) Don't know. If I can... I suppose so... Why?
Akane: I was just wondering... You never seem to try too much.
Ranma: I figure, if there's a cure, it'll come to me sooner or later...
Akane: How much later?
Ranma: I don't know... Say... Why all the questions?
Akane: Oh... Er... I was just wondering...
Ranma: Could it be that you like me and would rather I didn't have the curse?
Akane: I'd certainly rather you didn't have the curse...but I couldn't care
less about you!
Ranma: Sure...
Akane: Shut up!
Ranma: Ooooh! I hit a nerve!
Akane: Be quiet, Ranma! Why are you so mean?!
Ranma: Mean? I'm just joking!
Akane: (poutily) Well, it's not very funny!
Ranma: Okay. I'm sorry. Happy?
Akane: Not really...
Ranma: Come on, let's go in.
Akane: Hm? Okay.
[They go into the house and separate, going about their respective business.]
[Meanwhile, At Gosunkugi's House]
[Gosunkugi is now covered in the dust from the book and appears to have become
some sort of asthematic ghost.]
Gos: (cough) Geez! This is hard to read! I can't see through the dust!
[Gosunkugi waves his hand to clear the air but mearly succeeds in raising
more dust.]
Gos: (choke, gag, wheeze) Help... I'm suffocating...
[He gets up and throws the window open. The sudden rush of air swirls all
the dust around and covers him even more thoroughly than before.]
Gos: (splutter) Oooohh... I'm having second thoughts about this... Wachooo!
Great... I'm alergic to dust, too! Wachoo! Oooooeeeerrrr...
[He sighs and sits down again.]
Gos: Now... Lets see... Hmmmm... Love spells... Ooh! Curing curses. That could
be useful, too... I wonder what Ranma would do to be rid of his curse...
[Tendou Dojo, Evening]
[Everyone is sitting around eating dinner.]
Souun: So, Ranma... When are you and Akane getting married?
Ranma: Never! I won't marry Akane unless my curse is cured...(grinly) and
that'll never happen!
Akane: I don't want to marry this pervert, either!
Ranma: Hah! Suits me fine!
[Souun bursts into tears and Kasumi immediately tries to console him. Ranma
and Akane both look beligerant.]
Souun: (crying) Saotome-kun! You'd better do something! Waaaaaahh!!
Kasumi: There, there, Otousan... Let it all out...
Genma: Ranma! You will marry Akane and carry on the Anything Goes School of
Martial Arts!
Ranma: No way, Oyaji. You can drag me down the ailse, but you can't make me
say "I do"!
Genma: Don't bet on it, Boy!
Ranma: Why am I listening to you?!
Genma: (haughtily) Becuase I am your father-
[He is cut off as Ranma throws a glass of water on him.]
Ranma: Yeah... My father the panda!
Genma: [sign] You will fulfill the promise. You must follow that tradition of
Martial honor!
Ranma: Suck on it, Oyaji! I'm not marrying anyone!
Akane: Good. Me, either!
Ranma: See?! We agree on something!
Akane: Yes. No! Wait-
Ranma: What's with you? You like me all of a sudden?
Akane: NO!
[Akane punches Ranma out and storms away. Kasumi stops consoling Souun and
gets an ice pack for Ranma.]
Kasumi: (applying ice) Poor Ranma-kun... He must learn to be more tactful...
Nabiki: Fat chance! Ranma's a fool to the core! I don't know what Akane sees
in him...
Kasumi: It's not ours to wonder why...
Nabiki: Guess not... Well, I've got some debts to call in... See ya.
[Nabiki walks out, leaving Souun to blubber, Genma to fume, Ranma to recover
and Kasumi to look after them in the meantime. Up in her room, Akane is fuming
with impotent rage.]
Akane: Ranma no baka! Why do you always have to rile me up?! I try to be
nice and you go and make a joke of it! (thought) I do like you,
Ranma... Why can't you be just a bit more nice...and normal... It's
that damned curse! Why can't it go away?!
[Downstairs, Ranma recovers enough to hear the "Ranma no baka!" from above.]
Ranma: What did I do now? (rubs head)
Kasumi: Showed a total lack of tact.
Ranma: So?
Kasumi: So you should think before you speak. You're supposed to be nice to
your fiancee...
Ranma: I didn't want a fiancee!
Kasumi: No. But I bet you don't want to end it now...
Ranma: Sure I d-
Kasumi: Don't lie Ranma. I know you far too well.
Ranma: I think I'll go. I don't like having my brain picked.
Kasumi: Why not go and appologise to Akane?
Ranma: (resigned) Yeah. I suppose so...
[Ranma walks upstairs and knocks on Akane's door. She opens it and frowns, but
becons him in.]
Akane: What do you want?
Ranma: To say sorry... I guess I went a little too far...again...
Akane: You could say that.
Ranma: It was just that Oyaji got me going and I said some things I didn't
mean... Sorry.
Akane: It's okay. Still, it did bring up a good point.
Ranma: And that is?
Akane: About your curse. You should try to get rid of it.
Ranma: I have tried. Besides, I don't want to mess with it. It might get
worse. I might end up a girl permanently!
Akane: (laughs) Then you could marry Kunou!
Ranma: (shivvers) Don't say that! It makes my skin crawl!
Akane: Things would be a LOT easier if you didn't have the curse.
Ranma: Tell me about it! But then Oyaji and Ojisan would try to get us married
even more quickly!
Akane: It wouldn't be so bad...
Ranma: What?! Getting married?! Yes, it would!
Akane: I meant if you wern't cursed.
Ranma: Oh... Yeah... I guess so...
Akane: Wouldn't you like to be able to go out in the rain and not change?
Ranma: Sure. But it's not going to happen... So why worry?
Akane: Anything is possible...
Ranma: That's what worries me! Well... I'd better go...
[Ranma walks out leaving Akane to stare after him.]
Akane: (thought) What was all that about?
[Meanwhile, At Gosunkugi's House]
[Gosunkugi has managed to get rid of the dust (it is now in pile in the centre
of the room, developing sentient intelligence) and is sitting down reading
the book. He is mumbling and making strange gestures. At one point he shouts
out a phase in an odd language and sets the curtains on fire. Having put them
out, he goes back to his book.]
Gos: That was a little dangerous... Maybe I'd better try something less
destructive... Say... That worked! I did it! I DID MAGIC!!
[Downstairs, Gosunkugi's parents look up.]
G.Mom: What's he up to now?
G.Dad: Who knows! I just hope he stops all that occult stuff!
[Back in his room, Gosunkugi is smiling widely and looking rapturously at the
book.]
Gos: (gloating) It works! It works! (kisses book) It was worth evey yen!
[Gosunkugi opens the book again and leafs through a few pages.]
Gos: Let's look at curses... and their removal... Hahahahahaha!
[Gosunkugi reads late into the night, learning spells and their effects. By
the time he gives up, he has summoned a small demon, created magical lights
and utilised several other interesting effects..]
[Tendou Dojo, Morning]
[Ranma gets up and does his practice with Genma. After a while, they go in
for breakfast. Akane comes in just as Ranma sits down.]
Akane: Good morning.
Ranma: Hi.
Akane: You ready for school?
Ranma: Sure.
Akane: (smiles) Did you that homework for Hinako-sensei?
Ranma: (horrorfied) Ack! No... I'm dead...
Akane: (grins) That's about the size of it!
Ranma: Great... Just what I need...
Akane: Well... there's no point in moping about it.
[They quickly eat breakfast and then go out of the house.]
[Meanwhile, At Furinkan High]
[Gosunkugi walks into the school and is set upon by Kunou.]
Kunou: You! Whatziznehm!
Gos: Huh?
Kunou: You! Gosun...whateveryournameis!
Gos: Hikaru Gosunkugi.
Kunou: Yes, yes. Whatever. I have a task for you!
Gos: So?
Kunou: So you will do it for me!
Gos: (smiling) Or?
Kunou: Or the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High will crush you!
Gos: I don't think so.
Kunou: How dare you?! (raises bokuto) Prepare to die!
Gos: Ast su tangus moipar jaralan...
[There is a crash of thunder and a bolt of lightening streaks down from
the sky and hits Kunou. He collapses on the spot in a smoking heap.]
Gos: I told you so.
[Gosunkugi walks off and leaves Kunou to smoulder.]
[Furinkan High, A Little Later]
[Ranma and Akane arrive and find, instead of Kunou, Gosunkugi waiting for
them.]
Gos: Today is my day of triumph!
Ranma: What's with you, Gosunkugi?
Gos: I am taking what is rightfully mine!
Ranma: (frowns) Not if I can help it!
Gos: You cannot.
Ranma: Yeah, right! What can you do?
Gos: This! Sularus bilak mioprlan!
[A blast of electricity bursts from Gosunkugi's hand and sizzles towards
Ranma. Ranma acks and jumps straight up, avoiding the blast.]
Ranma: Not bad. I don't know how you learned that, but I can do it, too!
MOUKO TAKABISHA!
[Ranma shoots a blast of chi at Gosunkugi. Gosunkugi smiles and mutters a
few words. The blast hits and invisible wall, but some gets through and sends
Gosunkugi flying. He collapses on the ground, winded. Ranma walks over to
him.]
Ranma: You did pretty well. Given a couple of centuries...you might just be
a match for me!
[Ranma walks off with Akane in tow. She is wearing a concerned expression.]
Akane: Hey, Ranma. Don't you think it's odd...
Ranma: Think what's odd?
Akane: Gosunkugi's magic worked!
Ranma: (stops) So it did... (shrugs) Go figure! (continues walking)
Akane: I wonder why...
Ranma: (snorts) Law of averages... He has to get it right once in a while!
Akane: I guess so...
[They go off to class. Gosunkugi staggers to his feet a little later.]
Gos: I guess I should have practiced more before taking on Ranma. He's so
strong... I don't know if I can beat him... Wait a minute... Maybe I
don't have to...
[Gosunkugi runs off and finds Ranma's classroom. He goes in and sees Ranma
being attacked by Miss Hinako.]
Gos: Hey! Ranma! Can I talk to you?!
Ranma: (running) Sure! If you can get rid of her! (gestures at Miss Hinako)
[Gosunkugi smiles and says a few words. Miss Hinako stops dead in her tracks
and makes like a statue.]
Ranma: Whew! Thanks, Gosunkugi.
Gos: Don't. You may not like my next proposal.
Ranma: Sorry. You're not my type.
Gos: That's not what I mean!
Ranma: So tell me what you want.
Gos: Okay. I want Akane.
Ranma: So does every other guy in this crazy school! What's it got to do with
me?
Gos: You are close to Akane. I want you to get her to go out with me.
Ranma: (snorts) Yeah! Right! Why should I do that?!
Gos: Because I can cure your curse.
Ranma: WHAT?!
Gos: Quiet.
Ranma: Are you serious?
Gos: No. I'm trying to get a response... What do you think?!
Ranma: Well... (looks at Akane) I don't know if she'll go for it...
Gos: It's up to you... If you can do it. I will cure you.
Ranma: Hmmm...
[Gosunkugi walks off and leaves Ranma to think about it. Just as he walks out,
he waves a hand. Miss Hinako immediately springs back to life and starts
chasing Ranma again. Gosunkugi walks down the hall and fails to notice Kunou.
Kunou punches Gosunkugi unconscious.]
Kunou: Let that be a lesson to you, lowerclassman! I, Tatewaki Kunou, reign
supreme!
[Kunou storms off spouting poetry, fails to see a fire extinguisher, trips
over it, and falls down the stairs.]
[Furinkan High, Afternoon]
[Ranma and Akane are walking home.]
Akane: What did Gosunkugi want?
Ranma: A date with you.
Akane: WHAT?!
Ranma: Yeah... He wanted me to talk you into it.
Akane: Why would you do that?
Ranma: Because he reckons he can cure my curse.
Akane: Really?!
Ranma: Yeah... But I'm not going to make you go out with him for that.
Akane: Good. I don't think I fancy Gosunkugi.
Ranma: Well... Don't say it too loud. I might try and trick it out of him.
Akane: That's not very nice.
Ranma: Neither is he!
Akane: I suppose that's true.
[They soon arrive at the Tendou Dojo and go into the house. Ranma collapses
in a twitching heap when he sees the visitor. It is his mother.]
Nodoka: Ranma? Is that you?
Akane: Hello, Mrs. Saotome...
Nodoka: Hello, Akane... Is that Ranma there?
Akane: (looks down at him) Yeah... That's Ranma alright.
Nodoka: I'm so glad! After all this time!
[Ranma finally recovers and is able to speak.]
Ranma: Ofukuro... What are you doing here?
Nodoka: I came to see if you were here... and by pure chance, I found your
father asleep on the porch. It was quite odd... He saw me and passed
out...
Ranma: I guess he was surprised to see you.
Nodoka: I suppose he was... So. How have you been?
Ranma: Okay. Sorry about missing all your other visits... They always seemed
to be when we were away...training.
Nodoka: Of course. Your training must come first. You will be the last master
of Anything Goes Martial Arts one day.
Akane: Hey! What about me?!
Nodoka: Oh. And you Akane. That reminds me... How are you two going? Have you
chosen a wedding date yet?
[Akane is about to protest vehemently, when Ranma gets in first.]
Ranma: Yes, we have.
Akane: (horrorfied) No, we haven't!
Ranma: We have. It'll be the day after the world ends.
Nodoka: Oh?
Ranma: We're not getting married...ever.
Nodoka: I'm sure you'll change your minds later...
Ranma & Akane: NEVER!
Nodoka: We'll see...
[Ranma and Akane subside, sulking.]
Nodoka: Where is Ranko? She's usually here.
Ranma: Er... Well... She's..um...
Akane: She's not here right now... (gives Ranma a sidelong glance) But she
might show up any time.
Ranma: Er... How long are you staying, ofukuro?
Nodoka: Just until I am sure that you are on the right course.
Ranma: Great...
Nodoka: Now... You two had better go and your homework... Off you go!
[Ranma and Akane leave, more to get away from Nodoka than anything else.
They go to Akane's room and sit down.]
Akane: What are you going to do now?
Ranma: Hmm... Gosunkugi's offer is looking good right now...
Akane: Ranma! This is not Indecent Proposal!
Ranma: You're right. You got a better plan?
Akane: Yes. Let me talk to Gosunkugi. Maybe I can talk him into curing you
without a date.
Ranma: Well... You'd better do it quickly! If Ofukuro finds out about "Ranko",
it's (indictes throat being slit) the end of the line... So to speak...
Akane: I'll see him tommorow.
Ranma: (nods)
[Meanwhile, At Gosunkugi's House]
[Gosunkugi is doing battle with the massive book.]
Gos: Ooof! This thing is heavy! The words are hard, too... I think this book
was written for gaijin sorcerers... Hmmm... Better brush up on protection
spells...
[Tendou Dojo, Morning]
[By some miracle, Ranma has managed to prevent his mother from finding out
about the curse. He quickly eats breakfast, before getting out of the house
as fast as he can. He waits on the street for a few minutes, until Akane
comes out.]
Akane: What are you doing here?
Ranma: Hiding.
Akane: How come?
Ranma: So my mom doesn't find out about you-know-who!
Akane: Yes... Ranko... That'll be a problem...
Ranma: Tell me about it!
Akane: Well... Let's go find Gosunkugi.
Ranma: Right.
[They walk off and soon arrive at Furinkan High. When they arrive, Kunou is
waiting for them.]
Ranma: Hey, Kunou! Where were you yesterday?
Kunou: I was indisposed.
Ranma: (sniggering) Don't you mean immolated?
Kunou: Do not laugh!
Ranma: Okay. Do you want a fight?
Kunou: Yes, today I shall crush you!
Gos: No! He is mine!
Kunou: (turns) How dare you?!
Gos: Go away, Kunou... Unless you wan't another shocking experience!
Kunou: DIE, Lowerclassman!
[Gosunkugi says a few words and Kunou bounces off a sheild.]
Gos: You can't hurt me now!
Kunou: I am the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High!! I will crush you!
[Kunou attacks with his pattern strike and has about as much effect as the
French at Agincort (ie. None!). Kunou gives up and is forced to go away.
Gosunkugi then turns his attention to Ranma.]
Gos: You have seen my power. Do not resist me.
Ranma: I don't intend to...
Akane: Hikaru... I wanted to ask a favour...
Gos: (dreamy) Akane spoke to me, again! (extatic) Yes! Anything, Akane!
Akane: Anything?
Gos: Of course!
Akane: Good. Then you'll help cure Ranma?
Gos: Er... Well...
Akane: (cutely) Please, Hikaru? I'd really appreciate it...
Gos: (sighs) Okay. I'll do it.
Akane: Good. When can we do it?
Gos: How about after school?
Ranma: Okay. Where?
Gos: My house. My spell book is there.
Ranma: Why not bring it here?
Gos: Becuase it's almost as big as a table... and way heavier!
Ranma: Why not get it on CD-ROM?
Gos: It was printed in 1763!
Ranma: Oh... Whatever. See you at four!
Gos: Yeah... At four...
[Ranma and Akane walk off to class, leaving Gosunkugi to wonder how he has
been so easily hoodwinked.]
[Tendou Dojo, Afternoon]
[Ranma and Akane walk in and put their bags down.]
Ranma: We'd better go. We don't want to be late!
Akane: Yes. Let's go.
Nodoka: (walks in) Late for what?
Ranma: Oh. Er... We have to go see someone.
Nodoka: Who?
Ranma: A clasmate of ours.
Nodoka: Alright... But make sure you're home for dinner.
Ranma: Okay. Bye!
Nodoka: (waves)
[Ranma and Akane get out as quickly as they can and head for Gosunkugi's
house. They soon arrive and Gosunkugi grudgingly lets them in. He takes them
into the kitchen.]
Gos: We'll do it here.
Ranma: Why?
Gos: Because I am going to make a mess and it will be easier to clean up.
Ranma: Okay. What do I do?
Gos: Sit on the floor, crosslegged.
[Ranma sits down and waits.]
Ranma: Now what?
Gos: Now you wait for me to do my work.
Ranma: Oh.
[Gosunkugi draws a circle around Ranma with white chalk. He then draws another
near it and then draws another, larger one, a few feet away. He then gets a
pot and pours a red liquid onto the floor in a pentagram pattern in each
circle.]
Ranma: (moving out of the way) What's that?
Gos: Goat's blood.
Akane: Yuk! Is that neccessary?
Gos: Yes. A spell of this power requires a sacrifice.
Akane: (shocked) You didn't!
Gos: No. I got it from the butcher.
Akane: Oh... Good.
[Ranma gets back into the circle as Gosunkugi puts a candle in small pile of
sand at each point of the pentagrams. He then hands a lighter to Akane.]
Gos: You have to light these. They represent the hope of a supporter.
Akane: Alright.
[Akane lights each of the candles. The room now looks like and arsonists
convention centre. Gosunkugi then goes and gets his huge book. He puts it on
the kitchen bench, which sags, and reads for a bit.]
Ranma: Hey, Gosunkugi! What are all these circles for, anyway?
Gos: Yours is to contain the spell, mine is to protect me and Akane and the
third is to store the energy from the curse until I can dispell it.
Ranma: Oh... Okay. Say... Do you know what you're doing?
Gos: (shrugs) Pretty much... Besides, I don't think I can make much it worse.
Ranma: MUCH worse?! Great... Thanks for the confidence boost.
Akane: I'm sure Hikaru knows what he's doing, right?
Gos: (dreamily) Sure thing.
[Gosunkugi reads a little more and then steps into his circle.]
Gos: Okay. We are ready. Akane. Stand near me. But don't talk or touch me.
Akane: (steps into circle) Okay.
[Gosunkugi closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He raises his arms and
speaks.]
Gos: Salut Jalan Morul Tangus Biralakan / Ajun Imal Raduc Sozan
[He begins to repeat the chant over and over. Lightening starts to crackle
around the room. Ranma is suddenly lifted into the air by and unseen force.
He turns in slow circles, electricity flowing from him to the ground.
Gosunkugi's chant becomes more forceful. Ranma is spun faster, as energy
begins to gather in the empty circle. Gosunkugi raises his hands high and
shouts the chant loudly. There is a brilliant flare of light and all goes
still. The swirling wind dies down and the light dulls to a low glimmer.
Ranma falls to the floor and lies still. Gosunkugi drops his arms and slumps.
Akane stares around, the entire room has been charred black. Gosunkugi
recovers a little and looks around.]
Gos: My mom is going to kill me!
Akane: Is it over?
Gos: I hope so.
Akane: Hope so?
Gos: Well. I've never done this before!
Akane: Oh. (sees Ranma) OH! Ranma!
[Akane runs over and rolls him over. He appears to be unconscious, but unhurt.
He stirs a moment later and sits up.]
Ranma: Whoa! What a ride!
Akane: Are you okay?
Ranma: I guess so... Is is done?
Gos: Yes... I think so...
Ranma: Water! Quick!
[Akane gets a glass of water and throws it on Ranma. He does not change.]
Ranma: Hooray! No more curse! I'm free! Thanks, Gosunkugi.
Gos: Oh... Anytime...
[They are suddenly aware of increse in the light.]
Ranma: Huh?
Gos: Wha?
Akane: Hm?
[They all turn and see light flaring in the other circle.]
Gos: Quick! In here!
[They all dive into Gosunkugi's circle, just as an explosion occurs. When the
dust settles they can see a figure lying in the previously empty circle.]
Ranma: What happened?
Gos: I don't know... That wasn't supposed to happen... I wonder if I forgot
something...
[While Gosunkugi is thinking, Akane goes over to the figure. She sees a female
shape and turns the body over.]
Akane: Hey, Ranma! You're not going to believe this!
Ranma: Believe what?
Akane: Come and see!
[Ranma walks over and looks down. Akane is kneeling next to an attractive
young red haired girl. She has a pigtail just like his. In fact she looks
just like onna-Ranma.]
Ranma: WHAT?! I... HOW?!
Gos: (who has joined them) Isn't that what your female form looked like?
Ranma: Yes!
Gos: How odd.
Ranma: Was this part of the plan?!
Gos: No.
Ranma: What do you mean "no"?!
Gos: This was meant to be just a ball of energy. I was going to dispell it
later. It doesn't matter...
Ranma: Doesn't matter?! We've got a corpse on our hands!
Akane: Acctually, she's alive.
Ranma: What are- WHAT?!
Akane: She's breathing.
[Ranma starts strangling Gosunkugi and abusing him. Akane tries to separate
them.]
Ranma: What have you done, you magical moron?! Arcane ammatuer! Spell casting
spaz! Occult oaf! (shakes him) Are you mad?! Did you get your spell
book out of a cereal packet?!
Gos: (choking) I...might...have...made...a...minor...miscalculation...
Ranma: (gives his a frantic look) A MINOR MISCALCULATION?!
Gos: So some of the excess energies must have backed up and given the curse
spirit form... Big deal!
Ranma: YOU IDIOT! What am I going to do now?!
Gos: (shrugs) Tell people she's your long lost sister.
Ranma: I can't do that! My mom is here! (sourly) I think she'd know how many
kids she's had...don't you?
Gos: Hmm... Tell her that she's Ranko. That's a close to true as you can get.
Ranma: You better figure out how to fix this!
Gosunkugi: But I haven't got to the part on spell reversal yet!
Ranma: Aaaaaarrrrrrgh! GET TO IT NOW!!!!!!
Akane: Calm down, Ranma. At least you aren't cursed anymore. Besides... We
don't even know what will happen to her.
Ranma: But- Hey! You're right! Thanks, Gosunkugi!
Gosunkugi: Um... Yeah... Sure thing...
Ranma: What are we going to do with her in the meantime?
Akane: Take her home I guess...
Gos: She can't stay here! I have to clean this mess up!
Ranma: Okay. We'd better get going.
Akane: Can you carry her?
Ranma: Sure.
[onna-Ranma gets up behind them.]
onna-Ranma: I can walk by myself!
[Ranma, Akane and Gosunkugi turn.]
Ranma: Are you...
Akane: Ranma's other...
Gos: Body?
onna-Ranma: Not exactly. I'm the magic extracted from Ranma. I was sent into
the circle, but I had no place to go, so a body was formed from
the excess energy.
Gos: But... How?
onna-Ranma: Beacuse you botched the spell and left a whole lot of power
floating around. It was channeled into creating a body for me
when the spell had no destination.
Ranma: But are you...
onna-Ranma: I'm a bit of you. That's why I look like you. I also have some
of your personality...and all of your skills and memories.
Ranma: Great!
Akane: Wonderful... Two Ranmas. One is bad enough!
Both Ranmas: Hey!
Gos: Maybe you'd better think up another name...
Akane: Good idea... Now...
Ranma: Umm...
onna-Ranma: Well?
Ranma: I don't see you helping!
onna-Ranma: Hey! I just got here!
Akane: I know!
Both Ranmas: What?
Akane: It's obvious!
Ranma: It is?
Akane: Uh huh... Ranko!
Ranma: Hey! You're right.
onna-Ranma: I guess it makes sense... Ranko it is, then.
Ranma: Good. Now lets get going.
Akane: Yes. It's nearly dinner time!
[They walk out and leave Gosunkugi to clean up the mess.]
Gos: Geez... I wish I knew a cleaning spell... Hmm... Wish?
[Ranma, Akane and Ranko are walking back to the dojo.]
Ranma: That was weird. I get rid of the curse and gain a look alike!
Ranko: I don't look like you! Much...
Akane: What about you're mom, Ranma?
Ranma: (shrugs) She'll think Ranko is...Ranko.
Ranko: I can play that part.
Ranma: Can you?
Ranko: I have all your memories up until the moment Gosunkugi cast the spell.
Ranma: (nervous) All of them?
Ranko: (smiles) Yes.
Ranma: Great...
Ranko: Don't worry... Your secrets are mine, too...
Ranma: Good.
Akane: I hope Ranma's mom falls for this...
Ranma: She has every other time... without me here even!
[They soon arrive back at the dojo and walk in. Everyone is sitting at the
dinner table, but has not started. Nodoka is waiting.]
Nodoka: Ranma! Akane! You are late!
Ranma: Er... Well... We-
Akane: Ran into Ranko. She was on her way back.
Nodoka: Ranko! How nice to see you!
Ranko: Ooh! Hello, Saotome-obasama!
Nodoka: Come sit down, dinner is ready.
[Ranma, Akane and Ranko sit down. The rest of the family are giving Ranma
and Ranko strange looks. As soon as Nodoka walks into the kitchen, a volley
of questions are hurled.]
Nabiki: Who is this?
Kasumi: Where did she come from?
Souun: What is all this?
Genma: (utterly bemused) ...
Ranma: It's a long story. I'll tell you later... This is Ranko, okay?
[The others nod as Nodoka re-enters with more food. She sits down and they
all begin to eat, talking as they go.]
Nodoka: So, Ranko... What have you been doing?
Ranko: Oh... I've been around...
Nodoka: That's nice.
[The conversation wanders for a while, covering many things from Ranma and
Akane's relationship, to Ranko's grades. After a while dinner ends and
everyone goes about their business. Akane, Ranma and Ranko go to Akane's
room to talk.]
Akane: What are we going to do now?
Ranma: How do you mean?
Akane: I mean about Ranko.
Ranma: Hm?
Akane: Where is she going to sleep?
Ranma: Er...
Ranko: It would make the sense for me to bunk here... I've done it before.
Akane: No you-... Oh... I guess you have...
Ranma: Well, that's easy... What about school?
Ranko: I hate school!
Ranma: So do I, but if you live here, you'll have to go.
Ranko: But Kunou will drive me crazy!
Ranma: So do what I do... Beat him up or use him.
Ranko: (flatly) I don't have much choice, do I?
Ranma: None at all.
Akane: We'll take you to school tommorow.
Ranma: That'll create a stir!
Ranko: Every guy in school is going to be after me!
Ranma: We could tell them that you're my sister and that I'll pound them if
they go near you.
Ranko: What if Ofukuro finds out?
Ranma: We'll just- Hey! She's my ofukuro, not yours!
Ranko: Actually she's as close to an ofukuro as I've got.
Ranma: I guess so...
[At this point, Genma, Soun, Nabiki and Kasumi come in. The room is now rather
crowded.]
Ranma: Ooof! This is like an elevator!
Akane: What are you all doing here?!
Souun: We want to know about the sudden appearance of 'Ranko'!
Genma: That's right! How did she get here?
Nabiki: (to Ranko) I don't suppose you'd consider posing for a few photos...
Ranko: No way!
Nabiki: Pity... It would have been profitable, too...
Kasumi: I think we should get to the topic at hand...
Ranko: Er...
Akane: Well...
Ranma: It's sort of...
Everyone Else: Sort of what?!
Ranma: Sort of magic...
Everyone Else: (groans)
Kasumi: I think you'd better explain it fully.
Ranma: Okay... Gosunkugi just got this new magic book that actually works.
Akane talked him into using it to uncurse me. He did, but he botched
the spell and when he separted me and the curse, he accidently created
Ranko...
Souun: How odd...
Nabiki: Weird...
Genma: Hmm... Strange...
Kasumi: He must have failed to take the energy flux into account and had
nowhere to channel the excess power... Such a silly error...
Everyone: What?!
Kasumi: Nothing...
[Everyone finally piles out of Akane's room, leaving Ranma, Akane and Ranko
to sort things out.]
Ranma: Well... I'm off to bed. Today has been too weird for me!
Akane: 'Night!
Ranko: 'Night...big brother...
[Ranma gives her a bemused look and walks out of the room.]
Akane: You shouldn't tease him!
Ranko: (shrugs) He does it to you all the time.
Akane: I thought you were just a part of him... Why aren't you defending him?
Ranko: Because I am my own person now... I just share a few traits with him...
He's a jerk anyway!
Akane: (giggles) He's not that bad...
Ranko: I thought you didn't like him.
Akane: Of course I like him... He's just annoying...and he doesn't seem to
like me...
[Akane and Ranko get into bed and Akane turns the light out.]
Ranko: He does, you know...
Akane: Does what?
Ranko: Like you...
Akane: Oh... How do you know?
Ranko: I have all his memories, remember?
Akane: True... Does he really?
Ranko: Sure... He's not sure how you feel, though.
Akane: Oh.
[They stop speaking and soon drift off to sleep.]
[Tendou Dojo, Morning]
[Ranma, Akane and Ranko meet at the breakfast table. Ranma and Ranko have
been practicing with Genma. Genma has obviously come off second best and
is sitting on the lawn rubbing his bruises. Nodoka walks in and sees them.]
Nodoka: It's nice to see you three out there exercising.
Ranko: I love fighting Saotome-ojisan. It's great practice!
Nodoka: But it's not very ladylike. Girls shouldn't fight.
Ranko: I haven't got time for all that girls stuff! I want be a martial arts
master!
Nodoka: That's all well and good, but you don't have to be such a tomboy to
do it! Look at Akane. She does martial arts and retains her feminity.
Ranma: Hah! You- Ooooff! (is elbowed by Ranko) Whadja do that for?!
Ranko: Shut up!
Ranma: Why should I?!
Ranko: 'Cause I know better than you!
Ranma: (subsides) Hah...
Nodoka: That's better, now... When you come home from school, I want to take
Akane and Ranko out.
Akane: Okay.
Ranko: (suspicious) What for?
Nodoka: It's a surprise.
Ranko: That's what I was afraid of!
[Ranma, Akane and Ranko eat a quick breakfast and them head off to school.]
[Furinkan High, A Little Later]
[They walk through the gate and are met by Kunou.]
Kunou: Ah! My osage no onna! How I yearn for you!
Ranko: Buzz off, sempai.
Kunou: Indeed, you make heart flutter like a bee...
Ranko: You mean a butterfly, you botanical buffoon!
Kunou: (notices Ranma) Why are you in the presence of the vile Ranma Saotome?
Ranko: He's my cousin's fiancee.
Kunou: (head in hands) What cruel twist of fate forces my darling to live
with him... Wait! That means he is not after her... She is mine! (to
Ranko) My love! I am here for you!
Ranko: Kunou, why don't you go away and die?
Kunou: I love you too much to part with you!
[Kunou tries to grab Ranko. Ranko ducks and then double punches him in the
face. He staggers back and she flying kicks him in the head. He stumbles and
she kicks him in the legs, felling him. She then jumps and plants an elbow on
his face.]
Ranko: Had enough? (cute) I'll see you later, Sempai! Bai bai!
[Ranko runs off, leaving Ranma and Akane to stare in confusion.]
Ranma: What was all that?
Akane: (shrugs) Search me...
[They wander off and head to class. Kunou lies on the ground, wondering if
he should try a different approach.]
Kunou: It seems the pigtailed one is as fiery as red hair on her head... I
must use a different bait to snare her...
[Classroom 1-F, A Little Later]
[Ranma and Akane are sitting in class when Ranko walks in. The class goes
into uproar for a few seconds, until the rather bemused sensei quiets them.]
Sensei: This is most odd... Umm...Saotome?
Ranma: Er... Yes?
Sensei: How have you managed this?
Ranma: That's kind of a long story...
Sensei: So tell it.
Ranma: (shakes head) No. I don't think so. It'a a family matter.
Sensei: I see... (to Ranko) So...who are you, then?
Ranko: (cheerfully) I'm Ranko Tendou. I'm Akane's cousin, I've just moved
here and I'm joining this class.
Sensei: (vaguely) Certainly...why not? Things can't get much stranger around
here!
[Ranko joins Ranma and Akane, to the bemusement of their classmates. The class
resumes and carries on until lunch time. At lunch, Ranma, Akane, Ukyou and
Ranko go out and sit under and tree. Something of a crowd has gathered around
and is watching them.]
Ukyou: How did you do this, Ranchan?
Ranma & Ranko: Well... (look at each other) You explain. (pause) Okay.
[After a moment of arguing, Ranma explains about Gosunkugi's cure and the
arrival of Ranko.]
Ukyou: That's great, Ranchan! That means you can marry me!
Akane: Hey!
Ranma: (depressed) Not again...
Ranko: Hey! Cut it out, you two! How do you think it makes Ranma feel?
Ukyou: How would you know?!
Ranko: I was him, remember?!
Ukyou: Oh, yeah... So?
Ranko: So he doesn't like to see his fiancees fight!
Akane & Ukyou: Oh.
Ranko: Things are hard enough as it is. There's no need for you to make it
worse!
Akane: Okay, okay!
Ukyou: Yes. Sorry, Ranchan.
Ranma: That's okay. I'm used to it!
Ukyou: What are you going to do, Ranko?
Ranko: About what?
Ukyou: School... Life... You know...
Ranko: I'll worry about that after ofukuro goes home. Until then I have
to be the Ranko she knows.
Ukyou: (to Ranma) I didn't know your ofukuro was here, Ranchan!
Ranma: Well...she is, and I'm not overjoyed about it!
Ukyou: She can't be that bad!
Ranma: I suppose so... It's just that... Wait on, I don't have to worry
anymore!
Akane: Hm?
Ukyou: What are you talking about?
Ranma: Since I'm no longer cursed, I don't have to worry!
Akane: No kidding!
Ukyou: (hugs him) It's good that you're cured, Ranchan.
Ranma: Yes... I'm glad, too.
Ranko: (looks around) Say... There's a bit of a crowd gathering... I wonder
what they want...
Ranma: I don't know... I'll go see...
[Ranma gets up and walks over to a group of students, he reaches in and fishes
around for a moment, then pulls someone out. He holds the figure off the
ground by his shirt collar.]
Ranma: You know all the gossip, Daisuke... What's up?
Daisuke: (squirming) Well... Everyone is wondering how your two bodies have
separated...not that we mind or anything... Can I asker her out?
[Ranma easily lifts him up to eye level and glares at him.]
Ranma: That's none of your business and if you mess with her, I'll beat
your brains out, got it?
Daisuke: Of course. I'll make sure everyone knows.
Ranma: (puts him down) Good. You do that.
[Ranma walks back to the others as the crowd closes around Daisuke.]
Akane: What was all that about?
Ranma: Nothing much... I was just telling them that if they mess with Ranko,
I'd beat them to death.
Ranko: Great...
Akane: Good one, Ranma!
Ukyou: Sometimes you're really silly, Ranchan.
Ranma: Am I missing something here?
Akane: Ever heard of forbidden fruit?
Ranma: Wha?
Akane: By telling them not to, it's like telling them to go for it!
Ranma: Wha-?
Ukyou: What Akane means is that they might take it as an invitaion to go
*cherry* picking!
Ranma: Whatever... As long as Ranko knows how to fight like I do...there's no
problem!
Ranko: He's right. With the skills we share, we're almost unbeatable!
Ranma: Say! Why don't we have a match?! (Nabiki looks up)
Ranko: (shrugs) Okay. We'll do it tonight. If you want a beating...
Ranma: What?! You think you can beat me?
Ranko: Sure...
Ranma: (smiles) We'll see, I guess...
[That agreed, they go off to class and suffer the boredom of an afternoon of
history. Finally the class ends and they go back to the dojo. When they
arrive, it is filled with people and there are more on the fence and in the
trees.]
Ranma: What the hell is going on here?!
Nabiki: I heard you say you were going to have a fight, so I sold tickets and
set up a betting pool.
Ranma: Are you crazy?!
Nabiki: No. (laughs insanely) Rich enough to be eccentric!
Ranko: Don't worry. It's just a match.
[Ranma and Ranko go into the dojo and face off. The crowd goes wild as the
match begins. Ranma appears somewhat unsure about the whole thing.]
Ranma: Why did I want to do this? Can you remind me?
Ranko: Sure... You've always wondered what it would be like to fight yourself!
Ranma: Yep... That was it. What was I thinking?!
Ranko: Can't remember. Now... Let's do it!
[Ranma rushes at Ranko and attempts a roundhouse kick. Ranko ducks and kicks
him in the back of the knee. Ranma falls and trips Ranko. They jump to their
feet and circle. Ranko runs in and slides under Ranma, trying to trip him.
Ranma somersaults over Ranko and turns to face her. They glare at each other
for a moment and then attack.]
Ranma & Ranko: KACCHU-TENSHIN-AMIGURI-KEN! Kyyyaaaa!!!!
[The two tenshin amiguri ken's hit each other and deflect. Ranma and Ranko
both stumble back, stunned.]
Ranma: That was weird! I've never seen that before!
Ranko: Me either.
[They clash again, this time they grapple and Ranma throws Ranko to the
ground. She spins and kicks him in the stomach. He steps back, winded. Ranko
hops to her feet and smiles.]
Ranko: You're going to loose to a girl, Ranma! How does that feel?!
Ranma: I won't loose to you. You may be faster, but I'm stronger!
Ranko: We'll see!
[Ranma rushes in and flying kicks at Ranko. Ranko ducks and then turns, just
as Ranma delivers a back kick. The crowed oooohhh's as Ranko is slammed into
the wall and falls on the floor. She gets up, looking rather battered. She
runs straight at him and dodges his punches. She climbs onto him and holligan
suplexes him into the floor. He gets up and punches her across the face. She
responds in kind. It soon degrades into a slugfest, with Ranma and Ranko
taking turns bashing each other. On the sideline, Akane and Ukyou look on,
concerned.]
Akane: If we don't stop this, they'll pound each other into hamburger.
Ukyou: I don't think they'll stop...
Akane: (to Ranma) Ranma! Stop that! No one is winning! Give up!
Ranma: (turns) And let her beat me?! NO WAY!
[Ranko kicks Ranma in the head while he is not looking. He staggers and fends
her punches. She then jumps and attempts a double air kick. Ranma grabs her
out of the air and powerslams her into the floor. They both stagger to their
feet, Ranma dizzy from the kick, and Ranko wheezing from being winded by the
slam.]
Ranma: You look about done.
Ranko: You should see yourself...
[Ranma and Ranko glare at each other from opposite sides of the dojo. There
is a moment of understanding and then they charge. Each runs towards the
other, fury in their eyes.]
Ranma: Yaaaaahhh!
Ranko: Yaaaaahhh!
[They both leap into the air at the same moment. Everything moves in slow
motion as they hit. Ranma's foot connects with Ranko's face. Her hand hits his
face and her knee crashes into his side. They drop to the floor and stand like
statues for a moment. A murmur runs through the crowd...]
Akane: Who won?
Ukyou: I don't know...
[After an eternity, Ranko falls to her knees and then flat to the floor. Ranma
staggers and clutches his ribs as he turns.]
Ranma: I said I was stronger.
[Akane and Ukyou run over.]
Akane: Ranma! You went too far! You knocked Ranko out!
Ukyou: Well done Ran-chan, you won!
Ranma: She'll be okay. If she's like me...she'll heal fast... Besides, she'll
be better for the loss.
Akane: How can you say that?!
Ranma: Easy. She won't make the mistake of punching against a kick... (rubs
stomach) Although that knee was a nice move...
[Nodoka walks in and sees the crowd.]
Nodoka: What's all this?
Ranma: Oh. Hi, Ofukuro. Ranko and I were just having a match.
Nodoka: Where's Ranko?
Ranma: (points) Over there. She lost.
[Nodoka looks where Ranma is pointing. SHe goes over and inspects Ranko. She
then comes over with an empty expression.]
Nodoka: Very good, my son. All your blows hit vulnerable spots. But you have
hurt her quite badly! Shame on you! Ranko is much smaller than you!
Ranma: But I...
Nodoka: No buts! Carry her inside!
[Ranma goes over and picks Ranko up. As he walks out he glares at the crowd.]
Ranma: Hey! The fights over! Get out of here! Go home!
[The crowd grudgingly leaves and Ranma goes inside. They lay Ranko out on a
mat and put a cold cloth on her head. After a while she wakes up.]
Ranko: (ruefully) I guess I lost, huh?
Ranma: Not by much, that kneelift nearly did me in.
Ranko: Good. I'll beat you next time!
Akane: I don't think that's a good idea. Someone might get really hurt!
Ranko: That's okay. We're martial artists.
Akane: It doesn't matter. Look at you two! You almost beat each other to a
pulp!
Ranma: It was a good fight, too.
Ranko: Yeah... Oww! That hurts.
Ranma: Well at least we know you won't have any trouble with Kunou or the
others.
Akane: That's true...
Ranma: Oh well... I'm gonna have a bath to cool down.
[Ranma walks off and goes into the changeroom. He undresses and goes into the
bathroom itself. He gets a bucket of cold water and pours it over himself.]
Ranma: Hah! No change! I like it!
[He gets up and climbs into the warm bath water.]
Ranma: Ahhh... Great for soothing bruised muscles...
[He lies in the water for a while and dozes off a little. A figure walks into
the room and comes up behind him. It steps into the water and sits down. The
stirring of the water wakes Ranma. He sits up and stares at Ranko.]
Ranma: Ack! Hey! What are you doing here?!
Ranko: Soothing a few dozen bruises! Relax, we both know what the other looks
like naked.
Ranma: Still...if Akane found out...
Ranko: What's she going to do? Beat you up for having a bath with yourself?!
Ranma: Yeah. You know logic isn't very high on Akane's list of responses.
Ranko: That's right... Nevermind.
Ranma: Hah... Easy for you to say...
Ranko: I was thinking about the fight...
Ranma: And?
Ranko: Why did you go for the kick? You would normally go for a guard
reversal combo.
Ranma: I figured that if you knew my moves... I'd do the unexpected.
Ranko: Good idea.
Ranma: That and a bit of luck...
Ranko: (changing the subject) You know... You should tell Akane how you
feel...
Ranma: WHAT?! Are you nuts?! She hates me, anyway!
Ranko: Don't be dumb! Of course she likes you! She told me!
Ranma: (unsure) She did?
Ranko: (nods) Uh huh.
Ranma: And you're not lying?
Ranko: (offened) No. I'm like you. I don't lie! If I say she told me, she
told me!
Ranma: Oh... Well...
Ranko: You may as well tell her...
Ranma: I might... What do you think she'll say?
Ranko: (shrugs) That she loves you, I expect.
Ranma: Hmm...
[Ranma sits in silence for a while, thinking. Finally he gets out and dresses.
He walks out to the dojo and looks around. He sighs and sits down. A few
minutes later, Ryouga arrives.]
Ryouga: Ranma! I will finish you this time!
[Ryouga throws a bucket of water on Ranma, making him wet. Ryouga gapes.]
Ryouga: But... Why didn't you... How...
Ranma: I've been cured, P-chan. Now it looks like you're the one that's
finished!
Ryouga: It's not fair! How did you cure it?
Ranma: (smugly) Not telling!
Ryouga: Tell me or die!
Ranma: If you kill me I won't be able to tell you!
Ryouga: Don't toy with me!
Ranma: Calm down, Ryouga...
[At this moment, Ranko walks into the room.]
Ranko: Oi, Ranma! Do you- Oh! Ryouga.
[Ryouga stares at Ranko, then turns to look at Ranma. He looks back and forth
a few times, before collapsing with a brain overload.]
Ranko: What's with him?
Ranma: I guess seeing both of us blew a fuse in his head.
Ranko: Weird. (slaps Ryouga) Oi! Wake up!
[Ryouga does not respond.]
Ranko: (sweetly) Ryouga... Wakey, wakey... I know you're P-chan...
[Ryouga instantly snaps awake. He stares at them in confusion.]
Ryouga: You're both...but how... I don't understand...
Ranko: That's okay. You don't have to.
Ryouga: Ranma! Tell me what's going on!
Ranma: (grins) Oh, no... I don't think so...
Ranko: You may as well... Gosunkugi won't do it again. He said it gave him
a migrane...
Ranma: Hahaha... Well, you're out of luck. Gosunkugi did it and he won't do
it anymore.
Ryouga: I will make him!
Ranma: I wouldn't. He's got some new tricks.
Ranko: Ranma, you go. I'll explain it to pig boy here. (pats Ryouga)
Ranma: Okay.
[Ranma gets up and walks out, leaving Ranko and Ryouga talking. He goes
upstairs and stops at Akane's door. He knocks and Akane opens the door a
moment later.]
Akane: (without enthusiasm) Oh. It's you.
Ranma: (sarcasticly) Nice to see you, too.
Akane: What do you want?
Ranma: I was having a talk to Ranko...
Akane: And?
Ranma: And she said that you like me... Is that true?
Akane: No! I...well...er...acctually...
Ranma: I do like you...
Akane: WHAT?!
Ranma: I like you. Is it that hard to believe?
Akane: YES!
Ranma: Well... I just thought I'd say it... Before I thought better of it.
[Ranma starts to walk away.]
Akane: Ranma. Wait!
Ranma: Yeah?
Akane: I do like you, Ranma. Even if you are rude, agressive, stupid and
arrogant.
Ranma: Hey! I didn't even mention your cooking!
[Ranma goes off in a huff and leaves Akane alone. A little later, Ranko
arrives.]
Akane: Ranko! You told Ranma how I felt!
Ranko: Sure I did. He asked and I answered.
Akane: He asked about me?
Ranko: Yeah. He was wondering how you felt and I told him... Just like I
told you...
Akane: I guess so...
Ranko: Ryouga isn't acctually a bad guy, is he?
Akane: What?
Ranko: Ryouga. He's a nice guy.
Akane: Oh... I suppose so.. Why do you ask?
Ranko: Oh... Just speculating...
Akane: (ammused) You don't like him, do you?
Ranko: Well... He's better than Kunou!
Akane: So is a kick in the face.
Ranko: True... (rubs a bruise) I can testify to that!
[They talk a little longer and then go to bed, Akane thinking about Ranma and
Ranko wondering what to do about Ryouga...]
[Tendou Dojo, Morning]
[Ranma and Ranko get up early to spar with Genma and then are joined by Akane
at the breakfast table.]
Ranma: Oh joy. Another day at Furinkan High...
Akane: It's not that bad, Ranma!
Ranko: It isn't as bad as that boys school, anyway!
Ranma: True... But at least I didn't have to fight Kunou there!
Ranko: Leave him to me... I've got an idea...
[Ranma and Akane give each other nervous glances. A few minutes later, they
walk out of the house and head for school.]
[Furinkan High, A Little Later]
[As usual, they are intercepted at the gates by Kunou.]
Kunou: Today I shall take both Akane Tendou and the pigtailed girl from
you, Saotome.
Ranma: Not likely!
Ranko: Wait, Sempai. I want to challenge you today!
Kunou: I see... Very well, my love. You may challenge me. But I will lose
with all my might! Then we can date afterwards!
Ranko: After you get out of the hospital, you mean!
Kunou: Never fear, my darling. I will have you!
Ranko: (snorts) Yeah... Right!
[Kunou rushes at Ranko, who sidesteps and elbows him in the back. He turns
and swipes at her. She ducks and then somersault kicks him in the face. He
reels back and she moves in. Ranko delivers a series of punches and kicks,
finishing with roundhouse to the head. Kunou groans and falls to the ground.]
Ranko: What a loser!
Ranma: That was a bit harsh...even for Kunou.
Ranko: He deserves it... He might leave me alone now!
Akane: I don't think so. Kunou-sempai is nothing if not persistant.
Ranko: Whatever...
[They walk off to class and leave Kunou where he is.]
[Tendou Dojo, Afternoon]
[After school they walk out and head back to the dojo. When they arrive,
Ryouga is there.]
Ranma: It's a miracle! Ryouga here two days running!? I'd like to see that!!
Akane: Shut up, Ranma. You're being mean!
Ranma: Nyyyaaaahh!
Akane: (punches him) Baka. (to Ryouga) What are you doing here, Ryouga-kun?
Ryouga: I wanted to make sure I understood about this thing with Ranko... I
need to talk to her again...
Ranko: (sighs) Okay. Come on!
[Ranko and Ryouga walk off.]
Akane: I think Ryouga likes Ranko!
Ranma: (holding nose) Eh?
Akane: What?
Ranma: I said, 'That's weird!'.
Akane: No, you didn't!
Ranma: Well.. Not in those words...
Akane: What's with you, Ranma?
Ranma: Nothing...
Akane: You can tell me.
Ranma: Okay. I was thinking about what we said...
Akane: About...each other...?
Ranma: Yes... Do you think we should try a little more?
Akane: I don't know... I think we should let things flow...
Ranma: Yeah... I guess so...
[Meanwhile, In Another Room]
[Ryouga and Ranko are talking.]
Ryouga: So, do you think you could talk Gosunkugi into curing my curse?
Ranko: I could try... But you realise it won't get you anywhere with Akane...
Ryouga: What? Why?!
Ranko: Because she loves Ranma.
Ryouga: No! It's not true!
Ranko: Rubbish! You know it is! It's time you accept it!
Ryouga: But I love Akane! I can't just give up! My heart would shatter!
Ranko: There are other fish in the sea, you know?!
Ryouga: What? But...
Ranko: Can it...and stop feeling sorry for yourself!
Ryouga: Well... It would still be good to be rid of the curse... Then I could
crush Ranma and get my revenge!
Ranko: Give that up, too... You can't win that battle either!
Ryouga: Are you saying I am damned to forever lose to Ranma?!
Ranko: As long as you stay around him... Yes.
Ryouga: Why?!
Ranko: Because he's better than you are.
Ryouga: No, he isn't!
Ranko: (matter-of-factly) Then why does he beat you all the time?
Ryouga: Because he cheats and lies and has no honor!
Ranko: You know better than that... Now come on... I feel like some
icecream...
Ryouga: But-
Ranko: Just follow me.
[Ranko drags Ryouga out of house and off down the street.]
[Meanwhile, At Gosunkugi's House]
[Gosunkugi has procured himself a red sorcerer's robe and is sitting at the
kitchen table, reading. His mother comes in.]
G.Mom: Hikaru, are you ever going to get rid of that dirty book?!
Gos: No! It is a source of power for me!
[There is a sneeze in tha background.]
G.Mom: And a source of hayfever for your father!
Gos: The price of power is high!
G.Mom: Well, go and pay it somewhere else!
Gos: Alright... I'm going...
[Gosunkugi walks out, falls over his robe and drops the book. There is a
sharp crack and a parchment falls out of it.]
Gos: Hey! What's this...?
[Gosunkugi looks at the paper and realizes that it is in English... old
english.]
Gos: Wow! This paper must be hundreds of years old! I wonder how long it's
been in there...
[Gosunkugi picks the book up and carries it and the paper to his room. He then
starts rummaging around.]
Gos: Where did I put it?! I know I've got a Japanese/English dictionary...
Somewhere...
[Gosunkugi sifts around for a while and eventually finds the book. He then
sits down and translates the text of the parchment.]
Gos: (reading) Opening Dimentional Portals In Three Easy Steps! Wow!
[Gosunkugi's House, A Little Later]
[Gosunkugi reads for a while, a rapturous expression on his face. After he
finshes, he looks up and smiles widely...]
Gos: I have got to try this...
[Gosunkugi sets up his materials according to the instructions and begins the
spell. He begins to chant and draw patterns in the air with his hands. Light
begins to flare in the room and an area of darkness appears in one wall.]
[Tendou Dojo, At The Same Time]
[Ranma and Akane are watching TV when Ranma suddenly looks up. Akane sees
this.]
Akane: What's up?
Ranma: Did you feel that?
Akane: Feel what?
Ranma: It was like a wave washing over me...
Akane: No... Why?
Ranma: I don't know... But I've got a feeling that something funny is going
on... Let's go find Ranko... I've got an bad feeling!
Akane: Alright... I think she and Ryouga went to the shops...
Ranma: Let's go!
[Meanwhile, At An Icecream Bar]
[Ranko is eating a sundae when she suddenly locks up. Ryouga stares.]
Ryouga: Are you okay?
Ranko: No. That was weird!
Ryouga: What? Did you get a brain freeze?
Ranko: (baps him) No! It was like a wave of energy running through me... Did
you feel it?
Ryouga: No... Why? What do you-
Ranko: Come on... I need to find Ranma!
Ryouga: Ranma?! Why?!
Ranko: He might know what's going on!
Ryouga: Oh... Okay.
[They get up and run out of the shop.]
[At Gosunkugi's House, A Little Later]
[Gosunkugi is still chanting and waving his arms around. The area of darkness
is getting bigger...]
[Nerima Street, At The Same Time]
[Ranma and Akane are running down the street towards the shops. Ranko and
Ryouga are running the other way. They fail to see each other and all crash
in a heap. They sit up and stare at each other.]
Ranma & Ranko: Did you feel the wave? (pause) Yes!
Ranko: What is it?
Ranma: Only you and I felt it...so it must be to do with Gosunkugi!
Akane: That makes sense... You don't think he's...
Ranma & Ranko: Casting another spell!!
Ryouga: Is that bad?
Akane: This is Gosunkugi we're talking about! Even with a spellbook he can
foul it up!
Ryouga: Oh...
Ranma: We'd better go see what he's done now!
Ranko: Right. Let's go!
Akane: I'm coming, too!
Ranma: It might be dangerous!
Ryouga: Don't worry, Ranma! I'll look after Akane!
Ranma: Like hell you will!
Ranko: Guys, guys! Let's just get there, okay!
[Ranma and Ryouga grudgingly separate and they run off to Gosunkugi's house.]
[Gosunkugi's House, A Little Later]
[Ranma and the others arrive and knock on the door. G's Mom opens the door.]
G.Mom: (sees Akane) Aren't you Akane Tendou?
Akane: Er... Yes, I am... Why?
G.Mom: Oh... No reason... What can I do for you all?
Ranko: We need to see Hikaru... Quickly!
G. Mom: Come in, then. He's up in his room.
[They all go in and run up the stairs. The open the door and find Gosunkugi
standing in a circle. It is surrounded by weird creatures that appear to be
attacking it.]
Ranma: What the hell have you done, now?!
Gos: It's not my fault!
Ranko: Yes, it is! You shouldn't have tried to open a portal!
Gos: I just wanted to get a demon to get rid of Ranma!
Akane: WHY?!
Ranko: Don't you know?
Akane: Know what?
Ranko: Don't worry.
Akane: (bemused) ...
Ranma: Come on, Ryouga. I guess we'll have to get him out!
Ryouga: Very well.
[Ranma and Ryouga attack the demons with gusto. They start to fall under the
weight of numbers but are then joined by Akane and Ranko. They soon manage to
drive the demons back and free Gosunkugi.]
Ranma: Do you know a way to close this thing?!
Gos: Well... I've got a parchment...
Ranko: Where is it?
Gos: Well, I just put it down on that table...
Ranko: And a demon picked it up! You idiot!
Gos: I didn't think they'd all get through...
Ranko: You didn't think. Period! Once something from this side crosses the
breach, it's open to anything that wants to come through!
Gos: Well...
Ranma: What do we do now?
Ranko: Go through! We have to get the parchment back!
Ranma: You want to go...in there...?
Ranko: Not really. But we have to...
Akane: Come on, Ranma. You're not scared are you?
Ranma: Me?! No way!
Ryouga: Good! Then lets go!
Ranko: Ranma, you go with Akane. Ryouga, you go with me!
Ryouga: But...
Ranko: Come on!
[They run through the portal and into a nightmare land. There is a paved road
with a fires at the sides. There is a plane of death covered in lava and
burning trees. Demons roam about, killing each other. They look around and see
a small, red, impish looking demon running off with the paper.]
Ranko: There it goes! Quick! Before he burns it!
[They run after the demon and beat it up.]
Ranko: Alright. We've got it. We'd better get out of here!
[They turn and see a large crowd of demons blocking their way.]
Ranma: I don't suppose they'd be willing to just step aside?
Ranko: I doubt it...
Ranma: Didn't think so... Let go!
[They charge through the demons, blasting them aside. They soon reach the
portal and jump through. Gosunkugi is waiting.]
Gos: Did you get it? I'm running out of spells!
Ranko: Yeah. Here!
[Gosunkugi grabs the paper and reads it. He nods and steps into his circle. He
chants a few words and waves his arms. There is a rumbling and then the house
begins to shake.]
Ranma: What have you done, Gosunkugi?!
Gos: It should work...
Everyone: SHOULD?!
Gos: It's not a sure thing...
Everyone: WHAT?!
[There is an explosion and the portal closes. Then there is a rumble of
thunder and it starts to rain. Gosunkugi's room has been destroyed by the
blast and everything is smoking. The rain falls for a minute or two before
it wakes Akane. She looks around and realizes something heavy is on her.]
Akane: Ooooohh... Where am I? What happened?
[She gasps as the thing on top of her stirs. It is Ranma.]
Ranma: Oww. What hit me?!
Akane: Gosunkugi's magic, I guess...
Ranma: Oh...
Akane: Ranma. (annoyed) What are you doing lying on me?
Ranma: I was protecting you from the blast! Although I wonder why I bothered!
Akane: Oh... I'm sorry. Thanks, Ranma.
Ranma: Anytime... Say... Where are the others?
Ryouga: (weakly) Over here!
[Ranma and Akane get up and look around.]
Akane: Where? I can't see you!
Ranko: We're in the closet!
Akane: What are you doing there?
Ranma: (grins) Deciding whether or not to come out...
Akane: Help them get out!
Ranma: Okay. Say... Where'd Gosunkugi go?
Ranko: (from closet) Maybe he imploded?
Ranma: We can hope...
Akane: Ranma!
Ranma: Sorry, sorry!
[Ranma lets Ranko and Ryouga out of the closet and starts looking for
Gosunkugi. The others join in and cannot find him.]
Ranma: He's not here! He must have been vapourised!
Ryouga: But that mean he can't- (stops)
Akane: Can't what?
Ryouga: Er...Umm...
Ranko: Can't cure Shampoo, Mousse or Saotome-ojisan.
Akane: Oh... That's true.
Gos: (from tree outside) Help!
[They all go over to the edge and can see Gosunkugi dangling from a tree
branch by his robe.]
Akane: What are you doing there, Gosunkugi?
Gos: Just hanging around...
Akane: What happened?
Gos: I guess there was a power overload...and it blew up. Oh, boy... My Mom
going to kill me!
[They get Gosunkugi down and help him out of his charred robes.]
Ranko: Why did you do that?!
Gos: I found the parchment in the book and it looked like a good spell.
Ranma: You nearly blew us up!
Gos: Er... Sorry about that.
Ryouga: Well... We'd better go now.
Ranma: Yeah... Before the cops arrive.
Gos: What am I going to tell them?
Akane: That you created a magical portal and it blew up!
Gos: They'll lock me up!
Ranma: It's past due, if you ask me!
[Ranma and the others leave and Gosunkugi begins to clean up.]
[Tendou Dojo, Later]
[Ranma, Akane, Ranko and Ryouga walk in and are given odd looks by the
rest of the family. They are covered in charcoal and dust.]
Kasumi: Oh my! What happened to you?!
Akane: We had a little accident...
Nabiki: What with?!
Ranma: Gosunkugi.
Nabiki: Hah. Figures!
[They all go off and get tidied up for dinner. Over dinner a number of matters
are discussed but they manage to steer clear of the Gosunkugi incident. After
dinner, Ranma goes to Akane's room and goes in.]
Akane: What do you want?
Ranma: Just to make sure you're okay...
Akane: Well I am...
Ranma: Good.
Akane: Thanks for looking after me...
Ranma: That's okay. I have to look after you...
Akane: How come?
Ranma: Because if anything happened to you, I'd never hear the end of it!
Akane: (smiles) Sure, Ranma...
Ranma: (nervous) I'd better go... I'll see you tommorow...
Akane: 'Night.
[Ranma walks out and is set upon by Ryouga.]
Ryouga: Ranma! You have got to get Gosunkugi to cure me!
Ranma: (flatly) Why should I do that, P-chan?
Ryouga: Well... I'll...go away and...not bother you and Akane anymore...
Ranma: (ammused) Really?
Ryouga: Well?! Is it a deal?!
Ranma: Yeah... Okay. Deal.
Ryouga: Good. See to it tommorow.
Ranma: I might...
[Ranma walks away, leaving Ryouga to stew.]
[Tendou Dojo, Morning]
[Ranma and Ranko get up and spar alone, giving Genma the flick.]
Ranma: Ryouga wants me to get Gosunkugi to cure him...
Ranko: I know... Are you going to do it?
Ranma: Yeah... I guess so. No-one deserves to have a Jyusenkyou curse.
Ranko: True.
Ranma: You're kinda sweet on him, right?
Ranko: Maybe... What's it to you?
Ranma: Me? Nothing... I was just thinking how nice it would be to have him
out of my hair!
Ranko: So you and Akane could be together, right?
Ranma: Not likely... (shrugs) But you never know...
Ranko: We'd better talk to Gosunkugi today...
Ranma: Yeah.
[They clash a few more times and then go in for breakfast. Akane is already
there.]
Akane: Have a good session?
Ranma: Mhm... She's pretty good.
Ranko: And he's *too* good!
Akane: I wonder if Gosunkugi will give up on his magic...
Ryouga: (walking in) I hope not!
Akane: Why?
Ryouga: Oh...Um... Things would be rather boring.
Akane: Oh... Why do I get the feeling that something is going on around here?
Everyone: (looks nervous) Er... Umm...no reason...
[They quickly eat breakfast and head off to school.]
[Furinkan High, A Little Later]
[Ranma and the others arrive and find Gosunkugi blasting Kunou. Gosunkugi
zaps him with lightening and then drops him into a suddenly appearing hole.
He finishes Kunou and turns to face them.]
Gos: I wanted to say sorry about yesterday... That wasn't part of the plan...
Ranma: No kidding!
Gos: Well... Anyway... I just thought I'd tell you that I found a spell to
tidy it all up.
Ranko: Good.
Akane: That's good... Now we'd better go.
Ranma: Er... Well...
Ranko: Ranma and I need to talk to Gosunkugi...
Akane: Oh... Okay. Bye.
[Akane wanders off and leaves them to talk.]
Gos: What do you-
Ranma: Can you change Ryouga back to normal without making a P-chan to go
with him?
Ranko: It's rather important.
Gos: Er... Well... I think so... I think I know what went wrong last time...
Ranma: Good. You don't have a very good record.
Gos: I know... It's not my fault!
Ranma: Whatever. Now... When can we do this?
Gos: This afternoon... But not at my house!
Ranma: Why not?
Gos: Because if another spell goes wrong, it'll fall down!
Ranma: Oh...okay.
Ranko: I guess we'll have to do it at the dojo...
Ranma: But Akane might... (pleased) Oooohhh! Hahaha...
Ranko: That might be very bad.
Gos: I don't even think my spells could stop her...
Ranma: That's 'cause they don't work!
Gos: Hey! I opened the portal!
Ranma: Yeah! And look where that got us!
Ranko: Enough! We'll have to do it there and hope Akane doesn't see us!
Gos: Okay.
Ranma: When?
Ranko: How about four o'clock?
Gos: Very well.
Ranma: Sure. I'm not booked.
[That agreed, they go off to first period. In class, Akane is curious.]
Akane: What was all that about?
Ranma: Just another of Gosunkugi's magical foul ups. We have to fix it.
Akane: What's he done now?
Ranko: It's a little hard to explain...
Ranma: Yes... Better if you don't know.
Akane: (annoyed) Why?!
Ranma: 'Cause you'd only get mad.
Akane: Oh? Hah! I don't care then!
Ranko: See?
[Class wears on the for the rest of the day, but is soon mercifully over.
They all head back to the dojo and prepare for Gosunkugi's magical finale.]
Ranma: After this you had better not fiddle with any more magic!
Gos: I know... My parents said they'd make me pay for any more damage to our
house!
Ranko: It causes way too much trouble, too!
[They prepare all of the required markings and then realize something.]
Ranma: Hey. We don't know where Ryouga is.
Ranko: Oh...
Gos: That could be a problem...
Akane: (walks in) What could?
Ranma: Finding Ryouga.
Akane: Why are you- Hey! Are you doing another curse removal?
Gos: Sort of...
Ranma & Ranko: No!
Akane: Do you want me to help?
Gos: If you can find Ryouga...
Akane: I'll go have a look.
[Akane walks out and then comes back.]
Akane: Why am I looking for Ryouga?
Ranma: Er...well...
Gos: It's because...
Ranko: He's part of the spell...
Akane: Oh... Alright then.
[Akane walks off, leaving Ranma and the others to finish setting up.]
Ranma: Do you reckon you can do it without stuffing it up this time?
Gos: Of course!
Ranko: I hope so... I've got a feeling a lot is riding on it...
[A few minutes later, Akane comes back with Ryouga in tow.]
Ranma: How did you find him?!
Akane: He's been here since yesterday. I just went into the house and found
him. He was lost in a cuboard.
Ryouga: I wasn't lost...
Ranma: Really? What were you doing? Dusting for cobwebs?!
Ryouga: Shut up, Ranma!
Gos: Let's get on with this!
[Everyone gets into position for the spell. Ryouga is in one circle. Gosunkugi
and Ranko are in another and Ranma and Akane are in another. There is also an
empty cirlce. Gosunkugi begins to chant. He raises his arms and continues to
mutter the words. There is soon a great wind rushing through the dojo.]
Akane: Hey. Look at this... The wind goes around the circle...
Ranma: Strange... Still...with Gosunkugi, that's no surprise!
[Gosunkugi's voice rises and he begins to shout. The wind swirls around and
raises Ryouga off the floor. Lightening flashes around him and he shakes. The
intensity of the wind increases and the ground begins to rumble.]
Ranma: What a time for an earthquake!
Akane: It's rather odd- IYAAAA!
[Akane suddenly slips and falls out of the circle. She is swept up by the
wind and is swirled around. Ranma jumps and grabs her. There is a blast of
lightening all through the room. Ranma and Akane are shocked by it. There is
a massive explosion as the dojo flys apart and they are all thrown back down
to the floor. Gosunkugi falls too and slumps to the ground. They all lie
still, smoking. Ranko and Gosunkugi recover first and run over to the
others.]
Ranko: What's happened to them?!
Gos: I have no idea. They left the circles...
[Ranma groans and sits up. He looks around and sees Akane lying next to him.]
Ranma: Akane... Wake up.
[She does not respond.]
Ranma: (frantic) Akane! (starts sobbing) Please be okay!
[Akane groans and opens her eyes.]
Akane: Geez, you're a sook sometimes, Ranma.
Ranma: (extatic) Akane! (hugs her) You're alright!
Akane: I won't be if I can't breathe!
[Ranma lets go, but continues to hold her hand.]
Ranma: I'm glad you're okay.
Akane: Me, too. Say... What happened to Ryouga?
Ranko: He's... (looks around) He was right here...
Where'd he go!
Gos: Maybe he was vapourised...
Ranko: What?!
Ranma: He probably just got lost!
[Ranma and Akane get up and Ranko goes to look for Ryouga. Just as they
walk out of the dojo, it starts to rain. Ranma instantly changes.]
onna-Ranma: What the hell?!
Gos: I guess the misfired spell reversed your cure.
onna-Ranma: Great...can you redo it?
Gos: If I can find a building that's fireproof! This one looks about done...
Akane: (agreeing) The dojo doesn't look very good!
[They turn around just in time to see the dojo collapse in a heap of burnt
wood and twisted metal. Souun and Nabiki run out of the house.]
Souun: Ah! My dojo! Destoyed by a cruel twist of fate! I can't afford to
rebuild it either!
Nabiki: Oh, relax, Otousan. I had the place ensure for everything...including
acts of God...

[Everyone goes back into the house and cools off. A little later Akane finds
Ranma on the porch. He is looking at the charred remains of the dojo.]
Akane: Ranma...
Ranma: (turns) Hm?
Akane: Er... I just wanted to say thanks for saving me before...
Ranma: (smiles) That's okay. You're my fiancee. I have to look after you!
Akane: I'm glad...
Ranma: About what?
Akane: That you're my fiancee...
Ranma: You are?
Akane: Sure.
Ranma: I'm glad.
[Akane nervously puts her arm around him and leans her head on his shoulder.
He does not protest, but has a stange expression on his face, a mixture of
happiness and apprehension. After a moment, he puts his arm around her.]

[Tendou Dojo, The Next Afternoon]
[Ranma and Akane stand together at the gate, watching Ranko and Ryouga leave
the house and head off down the street, backpacks on their shoulders.]
Ranma: You know I was just thinking...
Akane: There's a first!
Ranma: Hey!
Akane: Sorry.
Ranma: If Ranko was like an extention of my personality...then...
Akane: Then what?
Ranma: Then does that mean that I was subconsciously attracted to Ryouga?
(shivvers) What a hideous thought!
Akane: (laughs) Don't worry... I think Ranko is quite different to you...
Ranma: ...
[They look out at the sunset. They can still hear Ranko's voice.]
Ranko: Hey, Ryouga! Where are we going?!
