With all of this business about favorite quotes from fanfics, here's a
challenge.  Between now and, say, next Thursday, write a "favorite
quote"able fanfic, beginning with the line "Space is a really, really
empty place."  It doesn't have to be sci-fi either, I'm just a fan of
Douglas Adams, after a fashion.  Meaning I want to slaughter him for
ruining the HHGTTG except for the first page, which included that line if
I remember correctly.  ;)

I'll write one too.  My first fanfic.  *evil grin*
I can see it all now....

I don't have the time this week, but I am reminded of one of my
favorite lines, which I here place in a new context:

        "Here" she said chearfully, dropping the tray onto
        the table from a height which was later calculated
        to be optimal to cause spills.

        Ranma poured the greenish liquid into a cup, and
        lifting it to his nose, sniffed it as as a mouse
        might sniff the peanut butter on the trap.

        "Go ahead! Try it!" She said threateningly.

        Ranma cautiously sipped.  The taste was almost,
        but not quite, totaly unlike tea.
