Guerrila Reviewer Mike Loader here, giving new meaning to to the word
tomorrow. My defintion seems to be "In a day or three".

Chrono Trigger 1/2, by Don Wang

   Judging from comments by the author and other reviewers, Chrono Trigger
appears to be some sort of computer RPG. CT1/2 is one of the fairly
common Ranma-meets-(insert series) fics that pop up from time to time.
   My review of it is slanted from two angles. First off, i've never heard
of Chrono Trigger, and thus don't really identify or feel for any of the
characters. This, I suspect, was the reason why most people failed to
respond to it. Second, with one or two rare exceptions, I'm not real fond
of the videogame-crossover genre.
   The plot begins with the Chrono Trigger group arriving in front of the
dojo in a time machine from 1000 AD. (I thought western Europe in 1000AD 
was still excited about the invention of feudalism; where did they get
the time machine from?) They challenge Ranma to a duel, and, as per the
usual story formula, Ranma gets the living #^%$#&* kicked out of him.
Which paves the way for the inevitable rematch.
   The prose is acceptible in most respects, but the author tends to have
his characters say the same thing over and over again. Much of the
dialogue tends to be flat and stilted, although there's content lurking in
there.
   The fight scenes are written according to the every-last-detail school
of thought. And given the nature of the fic, the fights form most of the
plot. Not for lovers of thoughtful, walk-in-the moonlight, character
development fics, although the author dutifully makes a stab at the
Ramna/Akane relationship developing that we see in most of the stuff on
the ML.
   The Ranma regulars stay pretty much IC (it's hard for a Ranma character
to be OOC in a fight scene ^_-). I can't speak for the CT characters.
   If you're a fan of Chrono Trigger (heck, if you're even heard of Chrono
Trigger) try this. If not, well...
