All right. I'll say something. I was recently checking out the
rec.arts.anime.misc newsgroupand there was this immense thread
discussingthe merits and flaws (mostly flaws) of Viz's Ranma
dubbing job. These people were ripping the dub to shreds saying
that it's one of the worst dubs out there. Personally, I've only
seen the dubs and don't read the manga. Is this really true?
Ranma 1/2 is one the funniest shows, let alone cartoons, I've ever
seen. It almost seemed as if those who posted these messages were
biased. In all honesty, the voices in Ranma
are just about the funniest part. (That's not to say that
subtitled anime can't be funny, too. Look at 'Dragon Half')
Anyway, anyone's thoughts are welcome. I just hope I'm not opening
a big can of worms here.

Hm... you should really read the manga sometime; I like it much
better than the anime. Anyway, I would just like to say that I
personally watched one dubbed episode of Ranma (note: I didn't buy
it... a friend gave it to me) and never have since, except the
movie #1 when it was lent to me.
Whoa.. I think you are being a little biased on this issue
Miyu-chan (if I may). I think Viz did an excellent job on the
Ranma dubbed videos. Now I agree that if the box says dubbed I
won't buy it, but in Ranma's case it is the exception. Maybe its
because I find the dubbed voices as irritating (in a good way) as I
do the subbed (you have to admit Ranma-chans voice is really
irritating).
Please if you have any comments please express them, I know certain
people are dying of spam withdrawal (like a certain lone gunman). I
apologize to WW ahead of time, if there are any problems please
make it quick and painless.
