   It looks like Microsoft(tm) has joined the ranks of Coca-Cola and
General Motors by putting its global foot in its mouth.

   Coca-Cola's original pictogram for Coke translated to "Bite the Wax
Tadpole" in Chinese/Japanese.  Chevy tried to sell its Nova (won't go) in
Mexico.  Now Microsoft is flooding Japan with flashy, stylized ads that
state:

   "Microsoft: If you don't know where you want to go, we'll make sure
    you get taken."

   This is the literal translation of their attempt to render "Where do
you want to go today?" in Japanese.

   As someone who's been taken for $89.95 a few too many times, I'm
inclined to believe it.  Does anyone have any proof one way or the other?
