Hello all!
I finally got home and back to work on this fic.
This is the part some people have been waiting for.. and its also the part
which has thrown me against a wall. Ive a few scenes for the next
installment, which are mostly character development. As for a true-blue
ending, Ive a few ideas, but none of them seem worthy.
Any suggestions at this point would be appreciated.
BTW, YARF is easier to type then 'Yet Another Untiled Ranma Fanfic'

The conversation ran around the room in circles..
"Are you nervous, Ranma?" Genma asked.
"Of course he is! Hes getting married, after all!" Soun responded,
ready to burst into tears at any moment. "Do you want some sake? It will calm
your nerves, son. Son!! Oh its too much!"
"Calm down, Tendo. Dont make a scene."
"Priest is coming sirs! He be here soon!"
"I cant figure this out, Pop. A Japanese Family, an American ceremony
with a Chinese Priest?"
"Think of it as being married in three countries!" Genma replied.
"Dont worry, son. Nabiki said she would handle all of the legalities
when we return to Japan." Soun added.
Ranma decided not to argue any more. It was pointless. He looked over to
Ryoga, who gave Ranma sly grin.
"Can I have a word with Ranma alone, please?" Ryoga asked.
"Of course." Soun said. "Cmon Saotome. Lets get a refill for our
sake."
As soon as they left Ranma looked at Ryoga. "Okay, Ryoga. Out with it."
Ryoga stepped up to Ranma and grasped his hand and shook it firmly.
"Ive decided to end our rivalry, Ranma."
"What is this? A joke?"
"No. Its just that.. I think its time to move on. You and Akane are
finally going to go through with it. I can accept it now because I have
Akari.. and I know that Akane will be happy."
Ranma stood agape. "What about P-chan? What about your life-long
ambition to get revenge on me?"
"Akane will never know what happened to P-chan. This morning before
everyone got up, Akari brought me to the nannichuan. I also cant think of a
better revenge than seeing you and Akane together in marriage. Its going to
be very entertaining to say the least. Besides, I cant kill a friend of
mine, right?"
Ranma thought for a moment. If Ryoga really wanted to kill him, there
were plenty of other opportunities he had missed out in the past. Ranma
smiled at Ryoga. "I wouldnt think of anyone else as best man at my wedding."
"Id be insulted otherwise, Ranma."
"Akane you look so grown up!" Kasumi said.
Akane had been dressed in her wedding dress from the last wedding
attempt. Although it was beautiful before, it was apparent that Kasumi had
been working on it and enhancing it further.
"Thanks, Kasumi." Akane blushed.
"Here, Sis. I want you to sign this." Nabiki came forward with some
papers.
"What is it?"
"A pre-nuptial agreement." Nabiki stated boldly.
"NABIKI!" The room exploded.
"Better safe than sorry, Akane. Besides, this isnt yours.. its a rough
draft of mine."
"How could you suggest such a thing, Nabiki?" Nodoka asked.
"Because if you had any doubts at all, you would have signed it." Nabiki
started. "Think about it, you have another year of high school and then the
university after that. Dont you think its a bit early to start a marriage?"
"Nabiki!!" Nodoka said. "How can you say that?"
Nabiki had a sad look on her face. "I.. just dont want to see either of
them hurt in the long run."
Akane walked up to her sister. "Nabiki, thanks for worrying, but Ranma
and I will be just fine. Youll see."
"I hope so, Sis."
"Cmon everyone, lets leave Akane alone for a minute or two. Well send
her father in a moment and we can start the ceremony." Nodoka said.
Akane looked around the empty room and smiled to herself. This was the
day shed been hoping for, for a long, long time. Then everything went black.
Ranma stood with Ryoga and Genma next to the Chinese priest. Plum, her
father, Akari, Nabiki, Kasumi and Nodoka attempted to make themselves
comfortable in the chairs from the house.
Then Soun walked with a veiled Akane down towards them. Soun left a
virtual river of tears on the ground as he walked.
"This is it, Ranma." Ryoga whispered. "If you think of backing out now,
Ill pound you."
Ranma never heard Ryoga speak. He too busy watching Akane come towards
him.
A small alarm went off inside Ranmas head. She looked little taller.
The dress made her shape look different. Was she wearing heels? This was
nonsense. He had to stop being suspicious all the time. This wedding would be
the end piece to all of the fiancees, weirdoes and nonsense that had plagued
him since he returned from China. Who would have thought that Ryoga would
turn out to be a ally in the end. Things were changing, all right, and Ranma
was very pleased with the results so far.
The priest began, in very fluent Japanese..
"This is it!" Ukyou thought. "Hes mine." She looked up at Ranma through
the veil. He looked so handsome. She couldnt wait to get him alone, away
from everyone and all for herself. Suddenly, words from the priest and Ranma
holding her hands in his snapped her out of her daydream.
"Do you, Saotome Ranma, take Tendo Akane to be your wife?"
Ranma looked nervously at the priest, at his friends and family, then
finally to Ukyou. "I.. do.."
"AKANE?" Ukyou thought.. "He thinks Im Akane. He wants Akane to be his
wife. I cant do it this way! What was I thinking?"
"Do you, Tendo Akane, take Saotome Ranma to be your wife?"
Ukyou was on the verge of panic. All she wanted was to be happy. She
never even gave second thought as to what Ranma wanted.
Ranma looked at her and smiled.
Ukyou didnt want him like this. She wanted Ranma to love her of his
own free will. Not through deceptions, lies and tricks.
"I.." Ukyou whispered. "Im sorry."
Without another word she ran off. Leaving everyone in total shock.
To be continued...
