I read the last 250k or so of BGZ 9 a couple of days ago (I had previously
read the about 750 that was on the remailer) and I have to say that I liked
it. In fact only two things really bugged me.
Spoilers below:
Ok, the first (and this one may have been changed/fixed by the time the
whole thing was released) was the fact that when the main character
massively screws up his neck, the first thought was hey, Nene had to have
done it. By the time Sylia figures out what's happened, I was wondering if
Nene would be drawn and quartered or not. That one particular incident
could have been handled in such a way that the reader doesn't have a clue,
or possibly barely suspects, and possibly could have come off much better.
The only other thing that bothered me was the mystical computer virus
introduced at the end. Being one who understands a bit about computers,
this plot motivator bugs the hell out of me. It's been really overused
recently in just about any story that has a technology within it. Ack, It's
probabally nothing, but thanx for listening.
