Um...about that hair color. The manga is b&w so unless hair color is 
specifically mentioned, it will come over as 'dark' or 'light'. Yet on 
the colored covers, onna-Ranma has red (o.k. sometimes it's pink or some 
other intersting shade of red) hair. Hummm...why is that?

In colorized pics from the manga, just about everyone's hair color is
completely unspecified.  I have four of the original japanese manga volumes
here, and just on these four covers female Ranma's hair is shown to be
black, red, pink, orange, and purple.  It's my impression that in color
manga pics, hair color is whatever the artist felt like drawing at the time,
and not meant to be taken literally at all.
