ARgh! I'm *finally* finished reading this monster!

Gaah! Gah! Gah!
It's huge! It's gigantic! It's ...
pretty good. :)
I have to say that reading this was pretty exhausting. Skyknight's
adventures were pretty dark, although that's been the trend, huh?. I'm
not going to make line by line specific C&C -- somehow, I think that doing
that would really spam the list, and might take me longer than a day. :)
Before I spoilerify this:
1. White Wolf: If you can't get your hands on unzip for unix, or
something, I can send you a gzip'ed version of this, uuencoded or
something. Or I can stick it on a web page... somehow, I think it'd be
better for you to get it compressed. Or maybe not.
Anyway, spoilerspace here:
Well, I guess I found the whole "Bert breaks up with Nene and starts going
out with Priss" thing a little hard to take. I suppose this is a
testament to realism, and it may also be a testament to why I shouldn't be
reading this for four hours straight on a Saturday. It wasn't real
surprising--I'd kinda seen this coming, but it was rather painful. Pain,
pain pain (sorry, I've been up for much too long, so you'll just have to
bear with me). Realistic, mind you, but painful.
I have only the vaguest of recollections of Skyknight's torture, but this
is not your fault -- I think I wasn't going to go back to read BGZ8 just
to help my poor memory.
The thing w/ Nene being actually responsible for Skyknight's accident was
somewhat predictable, but I found that reasonable -- reasonable
foreshadowing was in use, and I appreciated that. Her second incident
wasn't shadowed -- that was ok in my book, too.
In thinking about the story, I have gotten the rather frightening feeling
that BGZ 9 is just a setup episode for what's going to come -- the number
of loose ends is much, much greater at the end of this story than it was
in the beginning. This frightens me, for some reason, and yet, my awe
increases.
