To whoever wrote Back in '69 (PhooeyNT, I think): I read your story but
PhoNey!
simply didn't like it. It wasn't even the story, but I just don't like the
idea. It just offends me, I guess. I didn't write back because I felt that
this comment would be no use to the author because I simply don't like the
type
of story you wrote.
what do you mean by "type"? What type of story was it?
I know my
opinion was biased and I didn't really care about the story. I could have
put "I hate the story", I suppose. However, that probably wouldn't have
helped the story because I hate it just because of the idea, not the >story
itself.
i don't think so. if i received several e-mails saying the idea sucked,
then i'd change the idea. the idea is an integral part of the story,
in my opinion.
As I recall, the story was actually pretty good, but the idea of the story,
the way Akane died (she did die of oxygen deprivation or something like that,
didn't she?) just offended me.
the first revision, as mr. ancell could say, improved things quite
a bit. take a look. Yes, Akane died of oxygen deprivation...she
strangled on Ranma's...uh...well, the way she died fit the theme
of the story. It was really just a musing more than a story.
Not amusing, but a musing.
Anyways, if you have time enough to decide not to C&C, I would
appreciate it if you would just say what you were thinking instead.
"I hate the story" is good C&C as long as you back it up.
Even if the reason you hated the story is because of a bias.
And here's a little C&C about your fic. Akane seemed more than
a little rash at the end. Perhaps a happier ending? It just
didn't seem right that Akane could turn into a suicidal mess
over this one incident.
Oh, and keep your lines lengths less than eighty characters.

p.s.
you know, it's kind of funny. the stories which i wrote that i personally
liked least seemed better received than the ones that i liked most. Hmmm.
