Hi all!

I've decided to stop writing this thing. I want to get back to writing
fanfics (most notably the "Water Of Life", the continuation of Magical
Interludes).

I guess I can write down my thoughts on the remaining topics in a really short
form below.

The Extras - The best course would be to follow what you find enhances the
story for you. If you find that an extra (e.g. conversational japanese)
enhances the story for you, use it; if not, don't.

Writing the Thing - Use the storyboard you developed in the earlier topic.
Don't rely on other people's fanfics for anything. Go back to the original
source material if at all possible. Writing the story can be done piecemeal
(ie split into different scenes) so that if you encounter writer's block you
can combat it by working on a future section.

Self-Editing - Before you post, use a spell checker (and don't put it on
automatic). And read it! (You can also give it to someone else to proofread).

Dealing with Criticism (or lack of it) - There will be people who like your
fanfic so much that they'll write to you. There will also be people who hate
your fanfic so much that they'll write to you. Or no one will write to you.
The point is that if you get comments, you should be prepared to respond to
them (not necessarily personally). If a number of people have the same
comment, you should take it for what it is: a general impression that
something is wrong (or right) with your story that should be addressed.
