Speaking from an Australian point of view (and we do things differently),
I've have always thought that in correct english, the standard procedure
is to write the whole word ie. "okay" and that contractions are only used
in technical documents and rough work or shorthand. On the other hand, 
since english and 'merken have NOTHING to do with each other, this 
probably doesn't help... Anyway... Grammer is optional around here, as 
long as you spell alright, I doubt anyone will realy care.
