Here's a little tidbit for you...

If you have a long speech that spans several paragraphs,
you should only put closing quotation marks on the last
paragraph in the speech.

example:
   
    "But I can't believe I couldn't see in you blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah 
...
blah blah blah and this brings me to my point. <-- no closing quote

 <openning quote at teh beginning of each paragrph>
    "The point, as I said before, is, blah blah blah blah blah
....
blah blah blah I love you!"  <-- closing quote at the end of the speech
