< I told you not to come back.> the shadowy form said as it
descended the stairs. < It is all your fault that I am living in a
torturous hell without hope for salvation. For your crimes against
me, I will kill you, Ryoga. Do not think that you can hide behind
Akane this time. Now I will have my revenge.>
Hearing the slow deliberate speech, Ami and Con quickly got
to their feet, the flat cold tone of voice devoid of all life scared
them more than the fact that they were most likely about to die at his
hands.
"Run, Ami!" cried Conrad, as he charged up the stairs. [ Maybe she
can get away before he finishes me off.] A sharp pain blossomed in
his chest dissipating all hope of that as he fell back the two feet he
had managed to travel. looking down at his chest, he wondered briefly
why there was a thin piece of metal standing upright just a few inches
from his face. With that last thought, the shock caught him an
plunged him deep into unending darkness, Light no longer even a
distant memory of his past.
Through her pain hazed view, Ami looked back as Conrad
screamed her name. < Noooo!> she cried, knowing that it was already
too late. As she ran back to Con, she watched helplessly as he fell,
the puzzled look on his face tearing her heart out when she saw the
dagger imbedded in his chest. She got four more steps before
collapsing to the ground, her legs entangled by heavy metal chains.
She was no more than a foot from Con but it might as well have been a
mile for all the good she could do. Her vision spun as she crawled
towards him, hoping to do something, anything, but knowing that it was
already too late. He would die and she would soon follow him.
Kneeling over Conrad's limp body she cried, waiting for the blow that
would end her life. She looked up a moment later, amazed that she was
still conscious. her sobs caught in her throat, in the bright light
of a noonday sun she saw their attacker clearly for the first time.
As she looked up he looked down and their eyes locked. Ami saw past
his thick glasses and saw there not, a blood thirsty maniac, but
rather a look of such anguish and sorrow that was so intense she
momentarily forgot about where she was, lost in his eyes. Before her
a rapid play of emotion flickered over his face, shock, disbelief and
denial.
I really want to know what you all think about this. please C+C
