/*-----------------------------------------------*\
The rain poured down on Nermia, it was an unusually quiet time
for this small city.
The usual spark of life was incoherent today, it was replaced with a
dark, and eerie silence.
A young woman laid near a bed of roses, obviously asleep, slowly
she awakes.
She wipes the rain, and tears away from her eyes, the tears mixed in with
rain gave a suitable
camouflage. She had been laying near a tombstone, that in which lay
roses, and a few small
gifts.
She had been here, for at least a day or two, her closes where soaked
with rain.
"Why?" Ranma asked herself. "Why did this have to happe..?" She broke
off in a muffled sob.
"This isn't the way it's suppose to happen." Ranma said, "I, I love.."
She
couldn't say it, still to this day she had trouble saying those words,
even to herself.
We break of to see the tombstone of Tendo Akane.
"To the one we all loved." The tombstone had marked at the bottom.
"We had a future, didn't we?" Ranma said with a little frown on her face.
Ranma got up and placed a single rose on the tombstone. She turned and
walked slowly out of the cemetary.
Her mind still filled with grief, he set out to the Tendo's home.
As Ranma walked down the street a familiar face walked by.
"Ranma!" Ryoga yelled as he walked down the street with his umbrella.
"Where is Akane?!" Ryoga stopped, he had seen enough confirmation in
Ranma's eyes.
Ranma closed his eyes, and continued walking.
Ryoga let out a sob, and walked to pay his respects to Akane.
Mr. Tendo laid in his bed, he had way to much sake.
He was not in very good shape. He was laying on his side, his eyes
bloodshot from
crying. Kasumi walked in, she wasn't her same joyful self, but she still
kept the house
running. "Father, please come and eat some breakfast." Kasumi said.
Soun turned his head slowly. "Kasumi, is Akane home yet?" Soun asked
Kasumi kneeled down and put her hand on her father's head.
She smiled. "I'm sure she will be soon."
Ranma walked through the back door, her clothes soaked, and
dripping.
She walked through the kitchen, to the bathroom.
She let a small sigh out and closed the door.
Ranma sat in the warm bath, his mind trembling with pictures of
Akane.
"I let you down, I promised myself that I would protect you." Ranma said
letting the icy
reality sink in.
"Akane is never coming back, you have no one." His conscious said over
and over.
Ranma sat back, he looked around for any sign of her, he wanted to find
something,
but found nothing.
Ranma got up and dried himself off, he left the bath quietly.
Ranma walked down the hall, he past Akane's room, and stopped.
He walked back and stood in front of her bedroom. He traced the outer
edges of the duck with her name on it, with his finger. His heart beated
fast.
He opened the door. He took in the air, it still smelled like her.
This made Ranma sob. He walked into her room, and looked around.
Just like it was, and always had been, there was even some of Nabiki's
work-out equipment.
Ranma let out a big, deep sigh. He took a picture of her off the wall,
and cradled it in his arms.
Nabiki walked by Akane's door and noticed that it was slanted
open.
She looked inside, and what she saw made her heart drop. Here was Ranma,
laying on Akane's bed, with a picture of Akane, cradled in his arms.
Nabiki slowly opened the door, not to disturb him.
"Ranma." Nabiki said.
Ranma looked up, he put the picture down carefully.
"Hey, Nabiki" Ranma said quietly.
"Where have you been for the last couple of day?" Nabiki asked
cautiously.
Ranma looked at Akane's picture.
"Oh..." Nabiki said.
"Why?" Ranma asked. "Why did this happen?" Ranma asked Nabiki.
"It was an accident, Ranma." Nabiki said trying to comfort him.
"I blame myself." Ranma stated.
"No, no...don't you dare." Nabiki scowled.
"If I was there I would have saved her!" Ranma exclaimed.
"Ranma, you where at Ukyo's right?" Nabiki asked.
"I was." Ranma said almost ashamed of himself.
"Then you couldn't have saved her, all the blame goes to the car." Nabiki
said letting out
a sob, at the end.
"I will kill that bastard!" Ranma yelled. "Why did he have to be drunk?!"
Ranma said almost
collapsing. "Why, why, why..." Ranma kept on saying to hmself.
Nabiki took him in her arms. "Its okay, Ranma." Nabiki said as she began
to cry.
