How about this... after a long time (at least a month I guess) Ranma 
realizes that he does love Akane and is willing to admit it. However 
Akane still isn't "coming back to him", so he decides to steal passion 
spice from Cologne and use it on Akane.

Or how about this:

Knowing Akane will never love him again, he decides it would be best for 
Akane if she didn't remember him so he asks Shampoo to make Akane forget 
all about him, knowing that she will be able to lead a happy life.

Or... here's an even wilder idea: Ranma gives some very ... revealing 
pictures of Ranma-chan to Happousai in exchange for the Nanban mirror, so 
that he can go back in time to April fools day and stop himself from 
hurting Akane's feelings.
