First off, if you reply to this, PLEASE send it directly to me. I repeat,
do *NOT* send this as a reply to the FFML. My address is bmk7411@rit.edu
Now, to the matter at hand. As is plain from all the "stop spamming"
cries on this list, I am asking all the members of the list if they would
like me to kindly inform people of their spamming, a trick used in quite a
few newsgroups to a good effect.
The mail would be sent directly to people's mailboxes after the first
spam, then every fifth following spam. There would be no additional crowding
of the list, only spam notification.
Currently, the following catagories would be considered spam: off-topic
replies to posts; wars of sig chars, condiments, etc; pseudo-stories written
using the FFML (like the passion spice incident and poker game) however the
compiled story would not be considered spam; other blatant spamming. Not
included in the list are important personal events (babies being born,
events which are very traumatic--bomb threats, suicids, etc, and so on),
convention notifications which are on-topic, C&C, fanfics, discussion about
fanfics,
ideas, querying for fanfics, and so forth.
Please let me know if I should do this or not. Of course, White Wolf's vote
overrules all, if he so desires.
