Hmmm... I always thought Ranma's near his limit already. Well, even if that was
Akane's upper limit, you got to realize how effortlessly Akane beat Ranma. So even if
Ranma has more potenial, it would still be a good fight. My reasoning is this: Ranma
has been training all his life and therefore he really shouldn't have any major talents
left untapped. He could go higher, of course, but he is not going to become much
stronger. Meanwhile, Akane hasn't trained for all her life. She actually studies in
school and have a life besides martial arts. Therefore her potenial must be much more
than Ranma who have already trained enough to be at a level close to his maximum
potenial.
Besides, Ranma DID beat Akane in the Dougi...by striking the Dougi's Self-
destruct button (the dao symbol on the belt), which proves that brawn is no\
substitute for brain.
Remember Akane wanted to stop this fight. It didn't look like that Akane was
attacking as agressively as she was earlier during that mid-air scene. From earlier
scenes, I figure Akane can beat up Ranma very effortlessly. However, in that mid-air
scene she didn't start attacking until Ranma insulted her again. At any rate, Ranma
didn't defeat Akane because he was obviously unconscious before he could have striked
the self-destruct mechanism. Ranma sort of dragged Akane down in mid-air and then the
dao symbol was hit.
